Stark Raven Mad

“(Oh no, it’s a raven! I read all about those things in that poem by the scary poet guy! They’ve got magical evil powers and — wait, what’s she doing? She’s actually petting that thing? NO! It’s evil, wicked, bad and not good! I’ve got just one chance to warn her before she gets vaporized or turned into a frog or whatever it is they do! Hey! HEEEEEEY!!!)”

I think that’s a magpie, so it’s OK kitty. Your hooman servant is safe.

Yeah, I think it is too, but kitty thinks it’s a raven because they’re more ominous. By the way, here’s a magpie and a dog having a friendly wrassle:

Wow they play so well together. It’s so cute when the dog gets a clothes pin and the magpie wants it and it tries to steal one and does loop the loop on the clothes line.

Is this bird a pet, or wild? Either way the way they play is awesome!

I looked and it apparently is a pet. Now I want a pet magpie… *sigh*

I think that dog is still reliving his days of playing the lead in Phantom of the Opera. That is one adorable pooch – tho’ I’m amazed a Jack Russell isn’t attacking the bird! Aren’t they rather predatory? Bred to hunt? I guess this is a pup.

“Wattle” they think of next. Poor cat, so frantic trying to protect his beloved.

      The cat looks demented!

I love corvids! We have a couple of them (either ravens, or really gigantic crows) that hang out on the church roof next door and ‘talk’ together in the mornings.

They can also be unbelievably annoying. We used to live in a townhouse with a skylight over the staircase that ran from upstairs to the basement, and the instant dawn broke, the neighborhood crows would be up on the skylight, using it as a rock to crack nuts on. Bang bang bang! Used to drive us CRAZY! (I started to say “nuts,” but I decided that inadvertent pun was far too painful.)
