A shout-out today to J. D. for gracing the tip jar. Thanks to you, and also to the monthly contributors for your ongoing support of the site. And now, courtesy of Andrew Y., let’s meet a ferret who has something very important to show us, and she is not taking “no” for an answer.

Does she want help with the babies? Is she just showing her great thing to the large nice food-giver?
The description on the video says “ferret mom tryin to get me to baby sit.” 🙂
That’s even better.
That’s exactly what I thought was happening! It seemed so similar to what my mom’s Chihuahua did when she had puppies. Mama dog would try to drag the box that held the babies to my mom, especially at night. If my mom would pick up the box on her lap or the bed, mama dog would run off to her crate to sleep! She totally wanted someone to babysit!!!
Can ya’ blame her, though? That’s a lotta babies!
“Come here! See my babies! No! You can’t have that one! Give it back! No, don’t leave! Come back here!”
🙂
What a proud mama.
Perfect! You speak ferret!?
I almost get the feeling that she expects the all-powerful food-giver to guard the little ones. It speaks very highly of the person that she trusts him so much with her little ones.
My head exploded from the cute
Mine too, but I still have a grin on my (exploded) face! 🙂
I feel like we’re supposed to hand out cigars now.
What a proud Mama!
I had a cat that insisted I sit by her side while she gave birth. I felt very privileged.
I had that experience once as well – it does make one feel special.
Uhhhh…..*thud*…
That is so precious on so many levels.
You took the words right out of my mouth.
I’ve never seen baby ferrets before, and I had no idea they made such adorable sounds. I will babysit any time that mommy asks. I just hope she doesn’t bite me. I assume it doesn’t hurt?
Maybe she thought the fingers were more babies, and had to be put back in the nest? Mama instincts on overdrive!
That’s how i took it! You are my baby too, where do you think you’re going!? So sweet 🙂
Me, too! I thought she was thinking his fingers looked like her babies and wanted to wrangle them into her nest. Doggone adorable! /and such plaintive sweet squeaks and chirps.
Ferret bebehs–ditto with the thud and now ded from the cute. That’s one cute, persistent mama. When my husband and I were first married, we had up to 4 ferrets at one time. Loved every moment with them.
My cat used to do that. She wanted all her bebehs in one place, where she could keep an eye on them, including me.
What an adorable family. I had no idea baby knee socks were so teeny and cute!
At this point, they’re just ankle socks.
Bobby socks, or sandal socks.
???
I bet that Human started to lactate. I did.
Such trust.
I know! So trusting it brings tears to my eyes! (Good tears and I’m smiling, as well!)
Me too! And my chest hair abruptly sucked back into my body. Currently on intravenous whiskey to reverse the effects.
?
Aww, how cute mama ferret is!
Box o’ ferrets!!
Is that one of those monthly subscription boxes? Where do I order?
‘Hairy & David’
?
Ha!
That is beyond cute! Never seen baby ferrets before–I want to hold them all at once! Mama has such a cute face, too.
I’m fairly confident mama’s mommy instincts had gone nuts. Notice that the babies are the basically same size and shape as the fingers mama is trying to drag into the nest.
It happened to me once with a cat – I was down on the floor ‘mewing’ at the kittens, and the mama cat tried to drag me by the nose into the nesting box.
