Bun Buns

Here’s Leo from sender-inners Kerry and Julie, who note his hide-and-seek game needs a little work: “It’s almost time for Leo to go back to his room, so that my other bun, Pepper can come out. He thinks I can’t see him since he can’t see me.”

(They’re probably out putting up “missing bunny” posters now, the fools…)

Awwww, cute – pretty bun, what I can see of him. Are both buns male? Are you trying to bond them? It’s a chore but so worth it.

Both buns are fixed and I’m not trying to bond them. I’ve had a bonded pair of Rexes and they were great. Pepper, my bebeh girl is 11 years old and Leo had lived our daughter and her other bun, Lance ( both have been pictured in Cutetropolis). Sadly, Lance has passed away and due to a health issue, Leo now lives with his ” other mom”- me. Also for health reasons, it’s best to not have the two buns share everything.

Gotcha. I have bonded many sets of buns and once I decided to try two boys (as you know, girls are the worst for obvious reasons) It wasn’t a great bond tho’ they were getting fairly close – then I introduced a female and all was hunky dory. That was the only time I had three buns at the same time. Now I just keep two, tho’ these two that I have now will be my last. When Clementine was sick last month I really thought I was going to lose her and I thought about giving Fergus to someone with a bunny – I didn’t want him to be alone and I really can’t be getting another one. It’s getting harder to do the work involved with buns and with downsizing in the near future it will be even more so. I can always bun sit to get a bunny fix from time to time.

I can empathize. I was very sad when I made the decision not to have more than one bun at a time. (Smaller house and the work involved was getting to be too much.) The advantage to having only one is you can really become bonded.

Love how the tail looks pixelated for privacy.

Ah yes, the basket of invisibility, was that in the second or the third Harry Potter book?

Related to the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal? (I think I spelled that right…)

“He thinks I can’t see him since he can’t see me.”

You mean that’s not how it works?

I learned many years ago, from my first bunneh and all the others, their logic is sooo different than a hoomins and they think theirs is the only one that counts– or I have a thumping mad hatter. And I used to think only cats thought that way.

As far as I can tell, all animals think their point of view is the only one that counts—hoomins first and foremost. 🙁

My mother told me that when I was small (I hope very small) I would hide from her in a game of hide and seek by covering my face with a curtain. I think believing that you can’t be seen when you can’t see is diagnostic for someone who will never understand mathematics. (I certainly don’t)

      Do buns have object permanence?

        LOL. Very insightful, Dr.
