Confounded Hound

This bunny has a basset hound puppy for a playmate, but the young pup hasn’t quite mastered his hide-and-seek skills.

Nice find for Bunday, Murray C.

Can I play with the pup’s ears? I’ll be gentle.

That puppers has mighty cute stumpers. His bunny friend is having a great time giving him the run around.

If I had those two I would spend all my time watching them. They’re going to be great friends!

OMG that was totally squeeworthy! Bun seemed to be having fun, and the puppy’s confusion was adorable.

Incredibly prosh puppers! ? Such adorable antics! Love when he rolls and shows his tummy to prove he’s safe.
The bunny’s side hops…?. He seems to know he’s got the upper hand!
(As a bunny guardian, I must mention they need a bigger bun cage, and I hope both pets will be neutered or the friendship will not last.)

I’m hoping the cage is a safe spot or hideaway. That’s a confident bun. I saw a few “groom me” because I’m dominant moments that the goggy probably took as a play bow.

Boy, I know about that – they speak different languages – my cat and my buns always had a steep learning curve in that regard. My current bun (currant bun?) Fergus turns into a projectile if he so much as sees my cat. Clementine would be fine if I could get them together, but Fergus is her bonded buddy so there’s no point if he can’t be part of the process.

Isn’t a currant bun like a hot cross bun??
(Somebody make a better joke out of that!)

Yes! And I’ve had to deal with a few of those in my time!

We had attempted *once* to introduce our late kitteh Bibbs to the sister buns. We had them caged, the buns, for safety and carried the cat in. We all looked to Jinx, as the more overtly dominant of the two, to define the moment. Because she was calm and alert at first we thought it might go well…then she tried to launch herself THROUGH the cage to get to the cat. He was terrified and shredded my husband trying to get out of his arms, missed the open doorway, blinded ran into the wall next to the door and nearly climbed UP the wall trying to escape. We never tried again, mostly because we lost our Bibbs to cancer less than 2 years later.

    Round puppy tum 🙂

Oh, yes, don’t you just want to kiss that round little tummy? And something that always makes me giggle with short-legged dogs – when they sit their back ends only move a couple of inches.

    • Murray C July 3, 2017 / 10:24 am

Ooooh, reminds me of a Christmas song – “Round puppy tum tum….”

      • 6rabbits July 3, 2017 / 11:04 am

        Come, they told me,
        Pa rum-pa-pa pum
To kiss a plump round tum,
        Pa rum-pa-pa pum…

So far the bunneh can run circles around the clumsy puppeh. I root for the bunneh to win at hide -n- seek. Hope the hoomins keep watch on the interactiing of the two and that they grow to become buddies since bassets were once bred for hunting.

I’m impressed that, when the bun runs behind one side of the chair, the pup expects her/him to reappear around the other side. I forget how old humans have to be before they figure that out, and this I think is a pretty young pup.
