A fish kiss – what IS this fish, a smackerel???
Oh good one!
Or it could be a puckerfish.
YAY!
LOLOLOL!!! 😀 😀 😀
What about a cuddlefish?
ooh that’s a good one too hee hee
Mwah-he mwah-he?
Oh that is good. Good one Allein. Very good.
😛
GREAT!
I can absolutely 100% imagine this fish whispering that hover text to Fiona.
Being a fish in that hippo pool must be a bit like being an extra on a movie set, and trying not to fawn all over the star.
or possibly — sorry folks — being a fish in Fiona’s tank is like being a red shirt on Star Trek…

Oh noes! Not a red shirt!
Everybody knows that redshirts are…
So maybe the fish is sucking up?
I swear she could charm a hungry crocodile!
(this pic is also a great illustration of how they can close their nostrils under water – she squinches up her whole face like a sock puppet!).
The fish are tilapia, and they help keep the hippo pool clean by eating the hippo poop. I don’t know if they hippos eat them. When I was visiting Fiona, the zoo director (Thane Maynard – I love him) came by. He mentioned that one of the male tilapia is territorial and will try to shoo Fiona away from parts of the pool. It doesn’t work very well though.
Fiona AND Thane Maynard! I want to go to the zoo with you!
Ha – so funny that the fish would even think that he could accomplish that! Hmm do fish think?
Meanwhile, Fiona is like, ‘he’s right next to me, isn’t he?’
