Let’s Give Maru a Hand

Patty-cake, patty-cake, Maru-san
Maru plays nicely with mommy’s hand
But when it’s Hana’s turn, she don’t play that
With a slap and a whap she shuts it down flat

Isn’t Hana normally the nice one, Andrew Y.?

By the time everyone else sees my comment, the error will have been fixed. 🙂
3rd line, I think you meant “Hana’s turn”.

Maru looks so bored. “Fine human, I’ll keep amusing you. Aren’t you finished yet?”

    Lovely poem 😀
Maru’s nice to the hand that feeds him XD

Maru’s expression is the cat version of *eyeroll.*

The Circle did look extremely bored. I couldn’t stop laughing.

I feel like Hana was sitting there in the backgrouns silently judging Maru’s willingness to go along with this silly game.

Agree with all these comments- I thought Maru looks pretty bored with it all. 😀

Alas my kitties are more like Hana with me trying to get near front paws (*ahem* not that I ever pester them by just petting, squishing, or kissing their dirty paws…nope.)

I laughed at how completely bored Maru was, but patiently playing with Mom. Yes, Eve S., a cat version of eyeball is a good description.

I missed weighing in on Cutetropolis this last week but I was very happy to be in Santa Rosa where even tho’ the temps hit 100 in the day they dropped 50 deg. by night. It was amazingly beautiful – the ordinarily rather parched landscapes were lush – tho’ the grasses that turn brown are now feeding the wild fires, sadly. I was visiting my brother and his wife and we had a lovely, totally relaxed time. Wine tasting, swimming, a bit of shopping. I feel “Wefweshed” as Madeleine Kahn might say.

      I miss her.

Glad you had such a great time Murray! Sounds like you rejuvenated your spirit.?

Thanks, 6Rabbits – it was very refreshing/ rejuvenating. They have downsized beautifully so it’s given me some impetus to forge ahead with my own – tho’ my SIL is a VERY organized person and I’m not. But I have a goal, so I can do it if I keep focus.

    Terrific poem Mike!

Poor suffering Maru! He looked to be wondering how long he’d have to keep up this silliness (“When will it be hammock time?”) No games for Hana! ?

Hana says, “If you want to play that hand you’re going to have to ante up first!”

Hana was not having any of that Mugumogu foolishness!

May be they are playing “Dansons la capucine” instead?

This is one of all time favorite videos – I split a gut every time I see it. The fellows doing the voices are so good, their timing is impeccable – totally hilarious. I had the same thought when I saw Maru patty-caking with his mom.
