Husky Music School

“Hector, you’re still coming in late on the chorus. Stacy, watch your breathing. Gail, for your solo, you need to stand over there. Remember, the big recital is in two weeks, so we’ve got to keep practicing. All right, from the top, aaaaaaaand…”

Cute and annoying at the same time, says sender-inner Koixka.

    Once more with feeling!

      Oh, please, no, not again!

Love the white one who falls over at the end.

Does anyone recognize the song? 😛

Some of the pups sound like they are howling *m-e-o-w*. I wonder if they have a feline tutor?

Why do I hear mostly meows?

    • Duckie ? August 14, 2017 / 2:08 pm

I was looking for the cat, too.

This is the Vienna Sausage boys choir. They’re sopranos- remember? As they mature their voices will deepen and then, instead of “Meow” they’ll sing “How-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow about a beer?”

And me! That was stinking cute.

Yes. One is doing a pretty good cat imitation. Unless there’s a cat watching with the unseen lady. Lol.

Amazing. I howled at Millie when she was little. No response. I haven’t played an instrument or music for her. So no singing on her part. I on the other hand, sing silly old songs to her all the time.

When I first took up cello I’d have squirrels peer in through the windowscreens. Always wondered what they were thinking.

That’s some big Hazel Nut ya got there!

Love how the one guy is sitting on the toy plushie.

I guess the fainting couch was too far away.

Faye took the words out of my howling mouth.

I wonder what they’re all saying?

Huskies yet again – the most musical dogs in the pack. Gail was so good to move over for her solo, but it was so short! I wonder if the director told anyone to “just move your lips, you know you can’t sing”.

    Thread jack.
Grampa is home from the hospital. He is doing okay (for a man of 94) but we are submitting his name for a place in an assisted living environment. Thank you, everyone, for your supportive thoughts and prayers.

    • Faye August 14, 2017 / 6:01 pm

Duckie I am so glad Grampa made it home. Every day together is precious. Lost my Grampa Byron (Barny) when I was 14. Miss him everyday. Kiss to your Grampa.

So glad to hear it, Duckie! And it’s smart to get on the list for assisted living instead of waiting. Best to your Grandpa.

So glad your grampa is home! Fingers crossed for a good living situation for him.

Great news, Duckie – sounds like a very good plan.

She appears to be teaching them their call, so if they get lost, she can find them

Do we figure that Huskies are closer to wolves than any other breed of dog? They’ve had less wolf selectively bred out of them over history? I’m not saying they’re the oldest breed of dog (not sure about that), but the least modified? Because they sure have kept the howl.

    • Ricky's Mom August 15, 2017 / 7:42 am

Apparently dogs have a common ancestor with modern wolves but they are a different line; they’re not descended from wolves themselves. Depending on which unreliable pop-science report you read, the dogs that are most “closely related” to wolves include the Chow Chow and the Shih-Tzu. Huskies aren’t even on the list! Lhasa Apsos are, though. Go figure.

      • Michael August 16, 2017 / 3:46 am

My pop science knowledge is out of date. Thanks for calling that to my attention! Apparently the wolves we domesticated went extinct in their wild form. Did we domesticate them “just in time” before environmental factors drove them to extinction? Or did we domesticate the naturally friendly ones and kill the others off ourselves? I just tried to educate myself on the topic and from what I can tell, no one has figured it out yet, despite extensive attempts.
