2:15 PM: Pie still under surveillance. So far, no signs of the notorious slasher that has been terrorizing pies in this area. If I hear anyone sharpening a knife, I plan to take the pie into protective custody.
What a selfless pooch, Sharon H.

How nice of his people to install that pull-up bar for him so he can keep in shape (in spite of all that pie)!
Hope he doesn’t skip leg day or he’ll end up looking like a bulldog.
He does his squats in the back yard.
Ha!
Allein, I think I love you.?
Aww…..
Now, don’t get a big head! ;~)
Haha, yeah that came out a little big.
Ahhhhh! 😀 You’s guyss make me all warm inside.
I love that dogs are relentlessly optimistic.
Hey Rocky .. Watch me make this pie disappear !
😀
Well thought-out, pup.
Update: Laura (my mom) and my stepdad are fine, just without power. At least they have a pool to jump in if it gets hot!
That’s a relief – I wasn’t thinking how hot it would be there and all those people without AC! I know many had pools but I wonder what kind of shape the water would be in with stuff blowing into it and all that rainwater and heaven knows what else!
Has anybody heard about the manatees that were stranded. I saw video of people trying to help one but have no idea how it resolved.
They were rescued. It must have been quite a job! Manatees are one of my favorite animals so I understand your worry.
Glad those lovely creatures were rescued.
Thanks for letting me know – they’re high on my list of beloved animals. To see that one lying on the beach with absolutely no way to help itself was heartbreaking. And we can’t afford to lose any of them!
Tell them to check for gators first (and I’m not joking)
I’ve been listening to Fire/Police/EMS in FL, and they are finding gators in places you wouldn’t think they would be.
Yikes!
That’s called “a day that ends in Y” in Florida. 😀
Seriously, though, they are everywhere. We just hope they don’t find a way into the yard!
That’s wonderful!
He’s doing it wrong
Well, that’s pretty hilarious! And very elaborate!
Cute! Now I want pie…
Irma update: Mom & stepdad home safe with almost NO damage at all. Even have power! They got LUCKY!!! Woohoo!
Great news!
Awesome!
Excellent!
It’s so good to hear that Cutetropolitans and their families are safe. Please stay that way, everybody!
And adorable puppers. Yes, dogs ARE eternal optimists.
In my household, Rusty would’ve targeted that nice big stick of butter. We learned not to put the butter on the table until after we were seated!!!
Glad to hear good news from Rachel and Muppet2171! Happy to report that one of my cousins is safe; she left Orlando with her partner and their cat and are ensconced in Maryland for about a week. Must check in with some other cousins.
Personally I would happy to protect pretty much any pie in my tummy, little pup. But I lost over three pounds last week and am trying to stay on program.
