Carl Gets Fired

“Mr. Gunderson, since you joined the staff here at the Pinewood Hotel and Conference Centers, your work performance has been problematic in several areas. First, your frequent tardiness has left us short-handed during our busy summer season. Next, there was the unfortunate mauling incident during the Dooflemeyer wedding reception. Finally, we have received numerous reports that you have been stealing the mint truffles from guest pillows, upsetting a 75-year tradition that is the centerpiece of this establishment’s reputation for outstanding service. I’m afraid I have no further option but to give you notice at once.”

You may pick up your final week’s berries at Payroll.

“The hotel’s staff propped open the front door and began encouraging the animal to leave the hotel, while the bear climbed atop one of the couches and pressed its paws against the glass, leaving prints that were clearly visible two hours later.”

I would totally leave them there…

          Even murderous ones?

There’s a whole series of them.

Does that man place no value on his life? Or is he surrounded by an invisible, indestructible force field?

I was pretty surprised by that also, but if you read the story, everyone in town seems to be pretty calm about the bears. I guess both species are used to each other.

Yes, that’s true for the townspeople, but not the tourists! The visitor who wanted to hug the bear–seriously? I mean, I understand the impulse, but that is not.a.good.idea.

It’s an adolescent they are more curious than anything else and not usually aggressive. I’m sure he man would have called professionals if it had been an adult.

Yeah. I’ve seen the young ones get chased off by cats, like in that famous photo of a big bear at the top of a tallllll tree, and a little orange fuzzball at the bottom.

“OFF THE SOFA! DOWN! Bad bear, you know you’re not allowed on the sofa!”

    Amazing photo!

Now that’s just not fair! Carl was the in-no-cent “maulee” in that so-called incident, he couldn’t help being so hawt that the Best Man couldn’t keep his hand off him!

I stood in the exact same posture as the man, telling off a bear that was scrounging for food around my campsite in Yosemite. And the bear LEFT! But he did go into the ladies room – pushed the door open and went in. I prayed there was no one in there – then I saw the door open, inwards, mind you, and thought oh, crikey, there IS someone in there. But, no, it was the bear casually opening the door having poked around and finding whatever he might’ve found.
