“Oh, heavens, that was so long ago. I remember that mother and father would take us south for winter by the lake, and your father worked at the boat docks. He would always smile at me, and mummy and daddy would rush me past him because they thought him common.
“Well, one night, I was trying to catch this one moth that was fluttering by the porch light, and getting absolutely nowhere. I was about to give up when from behind me came the ZAP of a long, sticky tongue, and the moth dropped right at my feet. I turned, and there he was — my champion. And that’s when I knew.”

Ah, romance…
hmm .. Talk about a Lounge Lizard .. Reminds me of an old Sierra game
Leisure Suit Larry
I met some Lounge Lizards in my younger days… they were easy to spot: smiled like this green one, and wore shirts unbuttoned to the navel, with gold chains decorating their manly chests… 😀
How a father caught a moth-er.
???
? I just learned a song about a moth – a non-stop nibbling moth – full of similar puns.
This is the sweetest post ever.
A reptilian Darby and Joan…
And that’s when I knew…”I knew the way you know about a good melon”
Ha!
I hope they have that picture in a frame on the piano.
One for the calendar and/or coffee table book, for sure!!!
Second the coffee table book!
Third!
Fourth! So perfect in every way.
Please, NTMTOM, make a calendar or coffee table book!
There is a calendar, Hilda, for 2017. I hope Mike is planning one for 2018. I think the coffee table book would probably be the size of the OED at the rate he’s going. Of course I still want one … 🙂
Good thing I learned never to scroll down until I’ve read the entire text = twice the fun. This is another one that is just so spot-on. Genius. I’m convinced that that’s exactly their story, and they’re telling it in exactly that same way. Wonderful.
I agree! Lovely story.
That is the most charming lizard photo I’ve ever seen. I do believe they are a happily married couple!
That lizard blog (link below pic) is charming! Tons of personality, and their hoomins obviously love them very much.
