This retired librarian was dreaming of cataloging library books last night! Kitty is sitting near a book by Jules Vern. Good choice and so cute. Well fed. I miss having a Tortie girl. Maybe next kitty…

But in the meantime Mr. Mike helped me out with this… Mike, I see your kitty and raise you one MILLIE! Here is Millie wearing her escape proof harness. It matches a hands free leash so mommy can’t lose her even if I fall or need my cane when walking. Giving the whole setup a go on Sunday.

    • 6rabbits September 23, 2017 / 8:45 am

      Millie is sooo cute!

      • Faye September 23, 2017 / 8:46 am

Maybe Mr. Mike can embed pic?

          • Faye September 23, 2017 / 10:18 am

            Awesome!! Great service around here!!!

          • Faye September 23, 2017 / 10:20 am

            Eeet looks wonderful.

    • tara September 23, 2017 / 9:02 am

Oh gosh – Millie is so cute!
Please explain the hands free leash? Sounds amazing.

        • Faye September 23, 2017 / 9:54 am

This is the best one. Includes second lead and poop bag dispenser!

          • tara September 23, 2017 / 10:42 am

            Oh haha!
I read about the hands free lead and thought is was “wireless.” Goes to show, I shouldn’t do any internet until after coffee.

            • belphebe September 23, 2017 / 10:55 am

Tara, I was thinking the same thing. Also reading pre-coffee. But, in our defense, there are “invisible” fences that keep dogs from wandering off, so we aren’t completely crazy in thinking it could be wireless. 🙂

              • tara September 23, 2017 / 8:02 pm

Yes Belphebe! Glad I wasn’t the only one. 😉

        • Kar September 23, 2017 / 4:33 pm

I like that idea. Unfortunately I suspect most users then use their hands for their phones rather than focusing on the doggies but I like the idea.

Millie looks like a cuddler, and I’d be very happy to cuddle a cutie like this

          • Faye September 23, 2017 / 10:57 pm

Thank you Kar. She’s on me in an instant.

    • AJ September 23, 2017 / 9:54 am

Awwww (rendered speechless by the cutey sweetie puppy boo)

    • Ricky's Mom September 23, 2017 / 10:25 am

      Gaaaaah. Thunk. Ded.

    • Smartypants September 23, 2017 / 11:53 am

Aww…she is ready for an adventure!

      • Faye September 23, 2017 / 12:48 pm

Walking to the backyard!! Then we will see. I am remiss in getting her out. Too hot. Must start from scratch.

    • debg September 23, 2017 / 12:50 pm

      What a sweetie!

    • allein ? September 23, 2017 / 2:02 pm

She looks like she’s ready to star in the next Mission: Impossible movie…

      • Faye September 23, 2017 / 2:34 pm

How did you know! Shhh. Have not inked final deal. Tom Cruise is getting a bit old.

        • allein ? September 23, 2017 / 3:29 pm

          😀

She can probably do stunts without breaking an ankle, too.

        • Starfish September 23, 2017 / 10:24 pm

I can hear the movie trailer voice now.

“This summer, the bad guys won’t know what bit ’em. Millie stars in… ‘Mission: Impawssible’!”

          • Faye September 23, 2017 / 10:58 pm

            Yes, exactly.

    • Murray C September 23, 2017 / 3:37 pm

Wow, she’s ready and rarin’ to go! so CUTE! She’s got some nails on her, doesn’t she???

      • Faye September 23, 2017 / 11:00 pm

She will NOT let me clip her nails! Upcoming $35 manicure at the vet. I don’t get to treat myself to manicures.

        • allein ? September 24, 2017 / 3:32 am

I use to take Pablo to Petco to get his nails clipped (when I didn’t feel like doing it myself…he was squirmy and I made him bleed once and I felt so terrible I was afraid to do it sometimes!) They charged $10 and I just held him upright while the groomer clipped them. (It helped that he would go still if he he was held upright or on his back with nowhere to go. He didn’t like it being held like that, but that’s what he got for being so squirmy when I tried to do it myself!)

          • Murray C September 24, 2017 / 1:45 pm

Our cat makes it almost impossible to clip her nails – and a while back I inadvertently found out that her nails were growing into her pads! The poor thing – but she doesn’t make it easy to determine things like that.

  2. 6rabbits September 23, 2017 / 8:42 am

    Hey all Cutropolitons! Happy Saturday!
Today is the one year anniversary of my mom’s death, so the whole family is getting together at my dad’s. We all live pretty close. It will be good to see my brother, who I haven’t seen since he got married in July. And all of my sister’s kids.
It’s supposed to be in the 90s this weekend! We didn’t even have 90s this summer–for once. Hope you all are keeping cool and SAFE.?

    • tara September 23, 2017 / 9:17 am

6Rabbits – I hope you have a wonderful time with your family!

    • allein ? September 23, 2017 / 1:40 pm

It’s 85 here. It just better cool off by next Sunday. I don’t like it when my birthday feels like summer!

      • Murray C September 23, 2017 / 3:53 pm

Oh, Happy Birthday, a bit early, Allein, in case I forget. – I hope it cools down, too. I spent hours in the garden this morning and it got too hot to continue. I’m going back out but just to water – it’s really parched out there.

My fig tree is producing like mad but bees have beat me to most of the figs. Given the plight of bees I can hardly feel bad about that. I do go out and find a few that aren’t being set upon and carefully bypass a cluster of bees to grab a fig or two. They are too busy to pay me much mind. I made some jam, too – just about 2lbs worth. Not bad. VERY seedy and crunchy.

I haven’t been following these threads as closely in recent days but I hope everyone is doing OK, especially those in danger zones. Has anyone heard how Jan is doing? I did a quick perusal of the posts today and don’t see her anywhere.

6Rabbits, I hope your family gathering is a wonderful time for remembering and honoring your Mom.

        • allein ? September 23, 2017 / 3:59 pm

          Thanks, Murray!

10-day forecast says 68 for October 1, so fingers crossed. 🙂

        • tara September 23, 2017 / 8:19 pm

Fig jam!? Yum yum. Sounds lovely!

        • Jan September 24, 2017 / 9:45 am

I’m doing ok, thanks. It’s been a long week coping on my own as my mom went home finally last Sunday. I spent a day or two depressed and lonely about that! I have to be careful with the meds in case I have to drive; unfortunately I’m still in considerable pain at times. I have narrow window here where I can take ibuprofen instead of acetaminophen (I have a biopsy upcoming), so I’m trying to reduce the heavy duty stuff for a while. For the short periods when I’m relatively pain free, I’m moving pretty good though, so it’s just a matter of time I’m sure. I’m also trying to mentally prepare myself to return to work in another week… UGH. ?

Lily is her usual rambunctious self, my mom spoiled her rotten so Lily misses her too!

          • Murray C September 24, 2017 / 1:47 pm

Glad to hear from you, Jan. Sorry about your continuing pain issues. I do wish you weren’t totally on your own now, it’s got to be so tough. Let us know how all goes.

    • Kar September 23, 2017 / 4:35 pm

I’m glad that you all are together today. Sharing memories and making new ones

  3. tara September 23, 2017 / 9:16 am

My boss is a cat fanatic. Worse than I am. We have often mused about having a library cat. She’d probably scare the heck out of us when we come upon her in dark stacks. And we already have a ghost problem…

Happy Saturday everyone. Hope you have lovely plans for the day. I have to do a lot of annoying work. Lesson plans which are actually less annoying because my students did such a stellar job with the first part of the assignment. It’s inspiring to make sure the second (of seven) parts is really well thought out. But it’s annoying because it keeps me from the studio. And then I have to do some neighborhood canvasing and stumping to prepare for a Zoning Board Hearing this week. Its gotten very very ugly with a property owner who wants to do something so beyond the law and can’t understand why the rest of his neighbors are saying – uh, no. It’s been a stressful few weeks, but also such a relief that I’m not fighting this alone. Lots of people support us which is encouraging.

To everyone still recovering from all of the disasters, we’ve been hit with in the last few weeks – hurricanes, fires, earthquakes… my thoughts have been with you all week. I hope that you are doing as well. Wishing you continued healing in whatever way is needed.

Here’s to a peaceful weekend for all of us. xo

    • Faye September 23, 2017 / 12:49 pm

Tara, I am curious about what your neighbor thinks is “ok”?

    • allein ? September 23, 2017 / 2:29 pm

Ugh to neighbors. I live in a community that is part townhouses and part 1-level condos (I live in one of the second-floor condos). We have trash corrals which are for the use of the condo-owners only; townhouses have space to store trash cans and they can put them out in the parking lot on trash day. The trash corrals are just fenced squares with a bunch of big green cans for trash and blue cans for recycling. Nothing that the trash service wouldn’t normally pick up is supposed to go in there. The one near my building currently contains a pile of paint cans and other junk in one corner, and two large television sets. The paint cans have been there over a year and the bigger TV has been there for a few months now; it was blocking easy access to a couple of the cans but someone finally moved it behind the cans. Apparently a few weeks ago someone decided that this TV sitting there for several weeks indicated they should put their old TV out there, too! One night recently I went to throw out some recycling and I literally could not walk into the corral because there were so many trash bags just sitting on the ground.

There is a recycling center/hazardous waste drop off ten minutes away. Dispose of your crap properly, people!

Last week they sent an email to let us know the twice-yearly dumpster for bulky items would be coming on Monday. They leave it in front of the clubhouse for the day (or sometimes a few days/until it’s full) and you can dump bulk items and whatnot (no hazardous materials, though). So on Friday the woman who works in the office put cones in the spaces where the dumpster will go on Monday morning. I went for a walk after work and saw that there are already two TVs and an old propane tank sitting at the edge of the space next to the curb (presumably for someone else to actually place in the dumpster?). (Now, call me crazy, but even if it’s empty, I’d think a used propane tank would count as hazardous materials.)

I also responded to the email to tell her about the junk in our corral and suggest perhaps a reminder of what is and is not allowed to go in there is in order (they remind us periodically of who is allowed to use them, but never mention what). Apparently such a reminder needs to be approved by the board. She did say they were arranging a separate pickup for the stuff, though. I wonder how long that’ll take…

Sorry for my rant. Here’s something cute.

      • Faye September 23, 2017 / 2:38 pm

Oh gosh how can people not cooperate?

Oh gosh. They are so cute!

        • allein ? September 23, 2017 / 3:29 pm

          Cuz people suck?

Heck, they might have been moving out and just dumped stuff before leaving so it’s not their problem. Could also be someone from one of the townhouses or even another building. (My street has two buildings, one on each side, and only one has condos in it – my building has 2 townhouses at either end and 8 condos in the middle, four upstairs and four downstairs. The other building is 8 townhouses. The corral is on the corner so people on the street perpendicular to us use it as well. Really no way to know who might have done it.)

          • dubravkamcvmd September 24, 2017 / 6:35 pm

I live in a co-op and we have the same issues.

      • Smartypants September 23, 2017 / 3:59 pm

Our issue here is the landlord (creep!), but thankfully the neighbors are all cool. There are four households besides mine – an assortment of older/younger, male/female, working/retired/disabled, and one dog.

      • allein ? September 23, 2017 / 4:01 pm

Just looking at this picture again and noticing that kitty’s tail almost looks like it’s not actually attached. 😛

        • Smartypants September 23, 2017 / 8:36 pm

It’s one of those new snap-on tails. There’s a style for every mood!

          • allein ? September 23, 2017 / 10:40 pm

            🙂

  4. Mal September 23, 2017 / 9:31 am

Not only that, but the cat reads Rabelais in the original Dwarvish.

    • Smartypants September 23, 2017 / 9:51 am

…and above it, Umberto Eco’s ‘The Name of the Rose.’

      • Faye September 23, 2017 / 9:56 am

Ooo. One of the best library library book books. ?

    • Ricky's Mom September 23, 2017 / 10:26 am

      Dwarvish = Icelandic?

  5. AJ September 23, 2017 / 10:03 am

Busy weekend and upcoming week for me. Going to Farmers Market today now that the weather has cooled off a little so I won’t bake while I shop. Then have a volunteer orientation then hanging with friends later. Tomorrow I have some new furniture to build, errands to run, and if I’m lucky shopping time at Goodwill. And I might take a cue from this gorgeous kitty and get to the library sometime.

Got a new project to do at work plus a drs appointment plus I have to go get a new state ID. Wish me luck as I go deal with the DMV. Then hubby is coming home after a three week business trip. Whoo hoo!!

Hope everyone has a good weekend and week!

    • Faye September 23, 2017 / 11:12 am

At first I couldn’t figure out how you bake at the same time you shop! I Need more coffee.

      • Amyliz September 23, 2017 / 11:32 am

That made me laugh out loud, Faye! 😀
        And Millie is adorable!

        • Faye September 23, 2017 / 11:42 am

          Thank you all re Millie.

I actually thought gee I usually shop then bake. Yikes.

          • AJ September 23, 2017 / 5:50 pm

LOL. Well it has been pretty warm here so I could always carry around a pan of cupcakes or cookies and let the solar oven do the baking for me. Ooh, and then I could sell my wares! But did get the best strawberries today, the nice little ones not the ginormous ones that you usually see in the supermarket. And oh my, they were sooooooo gooooood. Reminded me of the strawberries we used to grow in our garden when I was little.

            • Faye September 23, 2017 / 11:06 pm

Guess what I’m going to treat myself to.

  6. Puddleglum September 23, 2017 / 10:48 am

Hi all! I have to do some running around this morning to get ready for my Tolkien book club’s annual Birthday Bash for Bilbo and Frodo Baggins this afternoon. Need to get food and mead for the potluck, a gift for the gift exchange, hand paint some wrapping paper, and study up on my reading for the trivia contest (which I’ve won at every meeting for the last year or so, lol, I have to maintain my reputation!).

But in the meantime, coffee, Johnny Cash, cat cuddles with Cricket, and reading about book production and distribution in the Middle Ages. ?

    • Faye September 23, 2017 / 12:51 pm

Coffee, Cash and Cricket. Great band!

    • debg September 23, 2017 / 12:52 pm

Puddleglum, I envy your life. I kinda miss the Middle ages, after all those years of grad school and teaching. And a Baggins birthday!!!!

      • Puddleglum September 23, 2017 / 2:17 pm

        ?

  7. Duckie ? September 23, 2017 / 11:17 am

Lots of little things to do today, most of them good. Sewing, reading, doing a cheese run across the border (I wish we were allowed more than just twenty dollars worth per person), a spot of gardening (bulb planting), and a little shopping.
I start watching the invisible cat today. He will sit far away and watch me do all his dirty work, and then, when it’s medication time, he will disappear. I think, in my next life, I want to be a cat.
Weather here is nice and cool. Flannel sheets and flannel jammies cool. Sat on the deck yesterday with a mug of tea and watched the squirrels. Wretched rodents are bulking up for winter, both in fat and in fur. I miss playing with squirrels, but we’re not allowed to feed anything around here, even humming birds.
Hope everyone has a good, quiet and happy weekend.

    • Faye September 23, 2017 / 12:53 pm

      Good on you Duckie. ?

    • Murray C September 23, 2017 / 3:55 pm

Glad to hear you’re feeling good, Duckie! Sitting outside with a cup of anything sounds so nice – those are some of my favorite times.

  8. Faye September 23, 2017 / 11:35 am

So besides my involvement with my Millie I am ecstatic to report that my friend/housemate’s friend with benefits has finally gotten his own apartment. So! I regain a second closet, my bookshelves, and an area where I can store 9-12 bins for art supplies and storage.

He still has small stuff to move out so I moved it all unceremoniously to one side of the room and swept the floor toward that side. He was a pig! and took two months to move his stuff out!! Thoughtless.

I’m determined to work right around his mess and retake my land so to speak. My girl friend is equally disgusted. He dirtied up areas in the living room all while complaining about her clutter problem. Never helped with dishes, toilet or tub resulting in me have to pay professionals to clean the bathroom better than I can manage.

She had plans to make the room into a homework room/grandparents sleepover room that were delayed for a year. I made her promise no more man friends or relatives in the spare room!

I am really done with thoughtless people. I had to drop a mutual friend of ours because as she was asking for help with OCD and depression she would trigger my PTSD with random texts about not feeling real etc. with no warning or any thought about me or normal conversation.

I try so hard to be thoughtful of others or just stay quiet if I’m angry or something. What is wrong with people? I have learned I will not even attempt to elucidate unless I really respect someone. I quietly drop them. If they can’t figure it out on their own it’s not worth my time to have a conversation.

Thanks for venting space. Everything is going great actually. ?

    • Duckie ? September 23, 2017 / 12:00 pm

You wouldn’t drop us, would you?

      • Faye September 23, 2017 / 12:54 pm

No way! Respect and love you all!!

    • Smartypants September 23, 2017 / 4:03 pm

Hooray – congrats on getting your space back!

  9. Flowerfanatic September 23, 2017 / 12:09 pm

Our move from Florida to Arizona is getting closer (3-4 weeks away). And not enough time left to get everything downsized to fit the apartment we’re moving to in an independent living apartment in a brand new senior housing community. Try to downsize a house with everything that’s been accumulated for 59 years of married life from a house that has 2200 sq. ft. plus an attic into an apartment of 1200 sq. ft. I know I have to do it but I’ve been kicking and screaming since January knowing it has to be done. Four moving companies will be giving us bids but I think we’ve already met the company we’re going with. We just can’t do yard work, housekeeping, and such any longer so it’s time to turn those kinds of duties over to much younger people. I’m also not the interested in cooking person I was just a few years ago so the thought of someone else doing the cooking and all that we have to do is show up in the dining room any time of day is VERY appealing. Fortunately our son and daughter-in-law are a godsend and are coordinating all that needs to be done and doing the back-breaking task of moving things around, boxing up many items, and anything that needs to be done we don’t have the strength to do any longer.

A month ago my husband was quite ill and found out that he needed his aortic valve replaced ASAP. He underwent a fairly new procedure called a TAVR (transaortic valve replacement) through the femoral artery/veins in his groins so there was no ‘cracking’ his chest/ribs to accomplish the replacement. In the hospital only 2 days and back home to recover. It’s been a little slower going than we’d hoped but each day he has more energy than the day before and is VERY anxious to get to Arizona and enjoy their climate.

Love Millie!! And her ‘jacket’ and how it’s attached to your waist sounds like a winner for sure. I’d have to have the same thing as I use a cane most of the time. I see it looks like it has the little handle I’ve seen on other jackets that you can just lift them up if need be. Don’t think that handle would be on one for the size of a Great Dane or a Rottie!!

    • Faye September 23, 2017 / 1:02 pm

Flowerfanatic they do make harnesses and hands free leashes for big dogs with handle.

The handle to lift her, I tried it. She slid right out?.

    • Murray C September 23, 2017 / 4:01 pm

Wow, Flowerfanatic, glad that your husband is recovering, sorry it’s not as fast as you might prefer. That’s a lot to deal with right before a move of this magnitude!

We’re in the early stages of reducing our stuff – had “College Hunks” come and take a huge pile of stuff – for a price, of course. But I do find myself waking up and obsessing on how much needs doing before we’re anywhere close to being ready to move. And we don’t have anyone to help us so it’s all up to us. And my husband is experiencing knee problems. I’m really not looking forward to it all! But it will get done, no doubt! Maybe I’ll just give “Arsonists R Us” a call.?

    • Kar September 23, 2017 / 4:38 pm

I feel your pain. Honestly, if you need to transition with a storage locker for now, it’s ok and can help with parsing everything down gradually rather than all at once. Also, the storage prices will keep you motivated.

I hope that ARizona’s better for you all weatherwise, at least you won’t feel like you have a wet great dane on your chest when you walk outside.

  10. debg September 23, 2017 / 12:57 pm

Yesterday was my fantastic boss’s last day before she moves on to another company. It was a bittersweet day indeed. I wanted to spend today doing nothing (okay, feeling sorry for myself) but the front yard landscaping project has to get done. Meeting my lawn guy early at Home Depot for supplies, and then watching him get busy, inspired me to do some much-needed housework. And that turns out to be far more effective therapy than just sitting around feeling mopey. Plus it’s always fun to watch someone else work!

The weather has cooled off a lot in Colorado, so I got to put my heated mattress pad and my comforter back on the bed. I love this time of year so much.

    • Faye September 23, 2017 / 1:12 pm

Cold weather means I have a window frame to caulk and need to buy a second blanket for Millie and I. She ate into a beautiful heavy crochet bed cover.

Hmmm heated bed pad… I also need a pregnancy pillow that they recommend for painless sleeping if you have arthritis etc. I never scrimp on bedding. Best parts of my day are lying in bed with Millie curled up tight in a ball heating my belly area. She sighs in contentment and trains me to pull her blankie over her. If I forget she pulls my hand.

  11. allein ? September 23, 2017 / 1:21 pm

All I can say is thank dog this week is over.

    I’m officially on vacation.

And here’s some Sarah Vaughn for ClaireDeLune

    Happy Saturday!

  12. N. Fritz September 23, 2017 / 4:32 pm

Big big day/week for me. School started September 11. For the first week or so we have no idea what our teach schedule will look like, we just go into classes and teach. After the first week, my boyfriend came to visit for a week. He’s been an absolute gem, taking me to and from school (about 20 miles one way over hill and dale) and cooking. But school is already kicking my butt. 130 students in six different levels, up to 10 different classes (including a night class till 9:30 pm), and three different curricula. There’s been a lot of ups and downs in a very short period of time… hopefully things will settle down a little after Tuesday.

  13. Kar September 23, 2017 / 4:41 pm

Got home a little while ago from lunch w a friend.

Both had been craving dhosas (masala and onion) and I tried a betel leaf pan. It was awful! Did get that mouth numbing that I heard about but no buzz.

Also hit the local Patel grocery store for some indian food: frozen paneer palek pockets, lemon ramen, and some interesting garlic pickles/chutney that may be my new crack.

  14. Amyliz September 23, 2017 / 7:39 pm

Hot and humid here…doesn’t feel like fall. I am ready for cool and crisp! Did the farmer’s market today, which was lovely. Runs through the end of October. Seems like it just got started again! Anyway had a nice talk a short while ago with my Dad for his 94th birthday; he is doing incredibly well! We are having a family get together in a few weeks so am looking forward to that!

Sounds like things are going okay for most everybody. They are here, too. Once we got everything moved back to where it should be after Irma (except for one heavy patio table that takes two people, and we both never feel like it at the same time), I’ve just been relaxing a lot. Work will start up again crazier than ever soon, I suspect, so I’m enjoying it being slow right now.

People can be so ignorant! A woman last week got ALL OVER my husband at the dog park and fussed and fussed at him for STARVING that poor dog of ours! Lady, she’s a GREYHOUND! it took everyone there to get her to back down, but I’m not sure they ever convinced her that we’re really not starving Melody!!!

I hope everyone has a good week and enjoys the start of autumn weather where you’re having it. I will admit that while I do not miss winter, I do miss a nice crisp autumn day. But cold weather and I don’t get along any more, so I’ll just enjoy it vicariously through all of you. 🙂

I have internet/cable issues today, and yesterday. I get intermittent internet and cable. I can deal without internet, I have books. The husband is lost without his TV. He actually yelled at me because I have not vacuumed in a while, because a) vacuum is broken, and his shop vac is usually at work with him and b) my leg is broken, since last Sunday evening. He said, “What an excuse”
Yeah, pity party for one, me. He apparently thinks it isn’t broken, and that a week should have been long enough for a pulled muscle to heal, so I must be faking it. Right, if people would, you know, stop expecting me to walk around on it, fetching things, going to the grocery store, taking people to appointments, it might actually heal. I didn’t have it looked at, but if he makes one more snide remark about it, I will go to the ER, and explain that I think it is broken, but my husband thinks I am faking it. They will give me a snapshot of the x-ray for me to show him. He can complain later about the cost of it.
Fortunately the cable repair guy works on Sundays, and he should be here between 3 and 5 pm tomorrow.

Patty , I do not wish to comment on your married life, but my response to him would have been to “do the bloody vacuuming yourself!” Then sit and cross my arms with a ‘back off’ look on my face.

Yeah, That’s what he was doing. He wasn’t happy about it, but my leg is broken, and if he wants to crawl up the stairs (amputee, takes his leg off downstairs) without crumbs, then he needs to vacuum.

Oh geezus. We are in a heatwave and my building has no water. I was going to make dinner, turned on the tap to get water for boiling pasta and just a small trickle. Well, stupid me, dumped that small trickle of water filled pot.. darn-it, damn and damnnnn. Phoned the building people and yes, we have an emergency. I was too polite to ask if we were going to get even cold water back on tonight… ugh! So, I ordered a pizza, hopefully it will be here in about 20 minutes. I just hope to flush the toilet tonight and have it fill again. Gosh, I take so much for granted here– truly.

Still no water but gawd-damn this pizza is spectacular.

So, cable guy came and went, and my internet/tv is still coming and going. I have lived here since 1981, so the cable from the pole to the house is at least that old. Turns out the cable is worn bare in 4 spots, and needs replaced, which wouldn’t be a big deal, but the trees have grown up in the far back corner of my yard, blocking the guy from getting his ladder to the pole to climb it and replace the cable. Before he can do that, we have to pay someone to trim trees. Needless to say, I have been trying to convince my husband to get someone to trim trees in our yard for years, but now that his cable is crappy, he will find someone who owes him a favor. We will just live with intermittent cable and internet (on windy/rainy days, the cable rubs on tree branches, which cuts out the signal) until he gets it done.
