Here’s a moment that could only happen in Canada: A polite homeowner politely shoos away a family of polite bears who politely leave. Not shown in this clip: The mama bear returns with donuts and coffee from Tim Horton’s and apologizes.
Politely submitted by Lisa B.
A double-double with a roll-up-the-rim-to-win on campday and some Timbits if you want to go full Tim Horton Canadiana. I am not fond of Tim Horton’s coffee at all but do really enjoy their green tea.
They have a new uncomplicated iced latte that I quite like! You don’t even have to tell them a size – you just walk up to the counter and say “iced latte” and maybe add a Canadian-esque “sorry to make you work; thank you so much”. It’s certainly easier than walking into a Starbucks and having to order a venti, double-hot, half-soy, triple shot, no foam, full whip, salted caramel macchiato light blended unicorn beverage”.
Or you could be like me and order the same thing every time to the point where when you want something different you have to say “Wait! Don’t do anything yet!” before you even get to the counter.
Are the iced lattes sweet at Tims? I see people ordering them all the time. If they are then I would have to complicate the order and say something annoying like ‘half or quarter sweet’ which takes away the simplicity of your good suggestion.
What color is the unicorn? ’cause i only want it if its lavender.
Tim’s is the only place outside home where I can find tea I like.
They do have good blends. I find Starbucks to be too bitter, at Tim’s they have a good lemon note in the green.
I’d love a bear visit if it also came with donuts.
So I googled “bear with donuts” and I got bear donuts… eh, close enough.
Really need to cross the border to try this mythical Hortons.
Must be something magical in those ceramic mugs.
Tim Horton’s is also available in some parts of the northeastern U.S. I used to visit Maine and I know they have a few restaurants there.
Really ‘no’ Kar 🙂 It is just that they are everywhere, consistent in quality and taste and most importantly inexpensive. Plus they employ a lot of new-comers to Canada and seniors etc. They really are part of the fabric of communities.
That is so funny. Love the politeness. Of course, its not totally Canadian unless it starts with “sorry….”
Their pastries are awesome– I think they had, like, three different kinds of maple-flavored things when my husband and I went there. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in Canada!
Canadian Maple for the win! It is a ‘boston creme’ but with maple on the inside and on top… mmm.
aaaand they pulled the video down 🙁
Darn it! At least we got some views in. I’ll look for a replacement.
Thanks, Mike
I think I want to be a Canadian in my next life.
