I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Fiona videos. She has too big a following for Cincinnati Zoo to drop doing them for her fans. At least, that’s my hope. I’ve enjoyed sharing all her accomplishments with the group as I know we have one BIG love fest every time there’s a new one.

We’re moving on Tuesday to our new retirement facility in AZ so my internet won’t be as easy to access as in the past. I still have my iPad but won’t have the capabilities my BIG computer has for at least a week or two. We’ll be in Independent Living so will still be very mobile in our activities but we won’t be saddled with any more yard work, housekeeping, meal prep (all meals and then some are provided plus I have a full size kitchen which I still haven’t figured out WHY!!), have transportation as needed, have already selected a new primary care doctor, etc. Our son lives only about 15 minutes from our new home so we can visit his family or they visit us easily. They do have a green house on the same floor we’re going to be living on so I’m bringing some of my house plant types with us and put them in the greenhouse if they don’t look like they like the apartment lighting which faces East. HUGE windows. AZ rules state that as long as they’re planted in commercial soil, you can bring them. They just don’t want soil from your yard to possibly spread diseases.

Trying to down size from 2300 sq. ft. to 1200 sq. ft. almost has me worn completely out. 59 married years of ‘things’ and mementos have to be looked at. Our son is finding out a lot about his parents that he probably never knew before. We’ve had some pretty strange and interesting conversations for the past few months as we work on this!! Like seeing photos of great-grandparents, etc. They wouldn’t have meant anything if he’d seen them years ago but now that he’s in his 50’s they are important and he’s interested.

But I’ll still be able to follow our group as time permits. Thanks for being here. I enjoy Mike, his comments, and all he’s done to continue Cute Overload!! And the groups contributions are wonderful.

Best of luck, Flowerfanatic – I’m facing what you’ve managed to accomplish – am jealous! I hope you’ll be back with us full time soon.

Good luck with your move and I hope you’ll be back with us good as new soon!

If it makes you feel any better, you still have more space than me. 😉 (My condo is about 850 sq. ft.) Though I don’t have 50 years of stuff in it (even if it feels like it, sometimes). Good luck with your move. Hope your plants are happy there. 🙂

Wow, Flowerfanatic–this is a big adventure! Please don’t forget about us, and best of luck during the move.

I agree. I don’t think we’ve seen the last of the Fiona videos. They make everyone so happy. I’m a Fiona fan for life.

Good luck in your move. ^_^ It’s nice that you get to reminisce some going through all your belongings.

This is how to have compassion and caring for animals and to never want to hunt or harm them: fall in love with them. The zoo should put all the clips together to make a small film that could be shown to children in school to foster than love for animals.

I think I’ve fallen in love with more animals via the Zooborns website, and their entries that are linked elsewhere because everyone loves them, than I have just about anywhere else — although the Old Ranch and now Cutetropolis also make sure I fall for the cute in all its forms, even unexpected creatures! Honestly, cute animals are just a lovely, adorable reprieve from all the nastiness humans inflict upon each other.

Best of luck with your move, FlowerFanatic! I hope you enjoy life in the new place. I know both my mom and my MIL had a great time with all the social activities when they moved into retirement facilities, with the stresses of yardwork and cooking and whatnot lifted off them. I hope you do, too!

Have you guys seen the newest videos from the Cincy Zoo, where Fiona and family (and all the other animals) get pumpkins for Halloween-themed enrichment treats? (Mike, I don’t want to jump the gun in case you’re planning to post it). Henry looks so happy with his prize!

FlowerFanatic, good luck with your big move! It sounds exciting. Look forward to seeing you back here.

I’ve seen the vid, and I may get around to writing a post for it. But if you have a link, go ahead and post it here.
