Bunny Bistro

In 2012, Flickr user John Gillespie visited Rabbit and Grow Fat, a rabbit cafe in Japan, where bunny lovers enjoy their favorite beverage with cotton-tailed company.

So many people, so little time.

Rabbits roam freely, and work the room for treats and pet-pets.

Ooh, this guy’s having the chamomile!

Some are shy…

But I’ll be your friend for some parsley.

… but most are bold.

Don’t mind if I do, om nom nom nom…

And some will even teach you to dance. That’s left and right and left and right…

You can see more of John’s photos and see the cafe’s Twitter page.

I wish there was a bunny cafe near where I live, maybe it would help me get over my trust issues with rabbits.

Oooh, I wanna go. I think I need to make a stop in Japan on my way to Australia to see all the qte there. Those bun buns might just get kicked out of the club since they’re not showing the proper level of disapproval but all the better for us. They look so friendly and want to play.

Yes, I’d like to go there, too – tho’ I do have my own buns to play with. That bun running around the woman’s feet is probably unneutered and displaying sexual frustration – usually the sign. Don’t know if it’s harmful or not, just good to know if you have an unfettered bun. Better for them and you if they are “fixed”.☺️But Cutetropolitans know that, anyway, right?

I used to have a fixed male lop that would run around me like that when he was excited. Another fixed half dutch, half lop did this when I came back from a 10 day vacation. It was so cute!??

I corrected “unfettered” twice – it was supposed to say “unneutered” how irritating! (It just tried to do it again) Some behaviors imprint and never go away whether they are neutered or not. As I say, it seems harmless enough and is awfully cute to have a darling bun dancing around your feet. And not unpleasant to know that their love might just be focused on you!?

Again, an ocean separates me from the all the qtes in Japan and Australia. I’d be at the cafe in an instant and have a hard time leaving. So, I’ll just have to give my two buns extra loving.

Why does Japan get all the wonderful animal cafés? Kitties, bun-buns, even owls and sheep and goats! Us North Americans are clearly falling WAY behind the curve in establishing cute cafés!

I assume the snacks available for the bun-buns are only healthy ones. The Japanese can be exceedingly weird at times, but they’re pretty responsible when it comes to making sure animals that meet the public only get healthy foods from the humans.

I was wondering the same as you, Laura, as to why the USA doesn’t have cute cafes. Probably the cost of liability insurance and potential for a law suit would be ridiculous.
