We’re Crustfallen, Maru

Hard times have come to Maruo’s Pizza parlor. For starters, Maru wasted the entire week banging on the counter after misunderstanding the phrase “drumming up business.” To make matters worse, delivery driver Hana got bored and quit. But the last straw came when he began chewing the pizzeria walls out of sheer boredom and discovered they tasted better than the pizza.

I thought he was just redecorating.

    The world’s silliest kitties!

Fun fact: Maru’s house looks much like a medieval workshop (would be identical if it had 2 storeys). The household would work on the ground floor, and there was a wide windowsill that could close up at night. They’d live on the floor above. Maybe Maru would do better as an apothecary?

Most of you have better knowledge and recall of Maru than I do. I don’t remember his being destructive of anything cardboard before. He’s mauled a couple of lids, but that was because he wanted inside. Usually he just takes objects as he finds them. Am I forgetting other instances?

Thank you. In both the videos (this thread and the one you linked) he seemed provoked to action when the cardboard DID something — when it was “spring loaded” and moved. “Mess with me, will you? I’ll show you who’s boss!” Not sure what the box in the stills did to him. Maybe he really did simply want a more comfortable chin rest at the corner.

BTW, the last caption among the stills is classic translation: “Photography from the bottoms is prohibition.” SO CLOSE to right. Translations like that are the language equivalent of the uncanny valley of realistic animation.

Not bad. But for TRUE destruction of anything cardboard, you need a rabbit! Pretty sure my Theo would volunteer.?

These teeth were made for gnawing, and that’s just what they’ll do …
