The Best Defence is De Fence

Bounding across the jagged peaks with an improbable grace and skill, the Great Mountain Fencegoat is one of the few creatures that can navigate this impossible and deadly terrain. But it’s not for sheer thrills; the tactic also protects the Fencegoat from its dreaded nemesis, the Arctic Ice Weasel.

Actually, I can tippy-toe across the pointy bits.

I’m on the fence about this photo, Sharon H.

I see the ice weasel has his winter coat on…

Brilliant scroll-down! I needed this laugh.

Yes! I should stick to viewing this site on my phone to maintain the suspense during the scroll down.

The video has been taken down before I could see it ? but I love the rat of the stories.

Darn, I put the comment on the wrong tread!

Lol, I’ve done that. Except in my case it’s always somewhere that makes my comment embarrassing, too. Like trying to post “I wanna try that” in a forum thread about some trendy new food but actually posting in a thread about contracting gonaherpesyphilaids from a yak.

Okay, now I want a back story, BFB!

I spend a lot of time on the internet. I open a lot of tabs at once and skip back and forth between them. I drink heavily. All of these factors contribute to my volume of misposted forum posts and my burgeoning collection of smutty comics about centaurs.

I can’t really remember any particularly interesting instances of the former. The yak thing was just an example. It was the first thing that popped into my head as a hypothetical.

The latter happened some time after watching Conan the Barbarian and before getting into bed fully dressed. Forensic analysis of my fridge contents and most of the surfaces in my bathroom suggests that when I’d mixed that batch of sangria I’d used the brandy measuring cup for the fruit juice, and vice versa. I was drinking an essentially port strength concoction as if it were 5% light beer.

The comics had already shipped by the time I realized what had happened. Thanks a lot, Amazon Prime.

Edit: I might have told the centaur story before. It’s one of my favorites. And just for the record it’s one of only two times I’ve ever blacked out. The second involved mixing margaritas and played out pretty much the same way. I’m a slow learner.

              Great stories 🙂
At least you have found some good use for alcoholic drinks, I have just realised I have 15+ bottles of various types, which gather dust and take up valuable space.

I had no idea that smutty comics about centaurs even existed.

                Then I remembered Rule 34.

Of the sites I visit on a regular basis, this is the least likely place I expected to encounter references to rule 34…

Well, I just googled Rule 34. Now I know. And I agree it’s true.

I’d like to hear the caption read by David Attenborough.

Isn’t there an app for that? There should be.

      • Jendeyan December 11, 2017 / 1:51 pm

I would pay for that app!

My favorite line for when I’m really stressed is “I’m a crazed ice weasel” At least now I know what they look like ?

  6. Kar December 11, 2017 / 12:36 pm

    Somehow I don’t think that’s what happened…..

  7. Jendeyan December 11, 2017 / 1:55 pm

Poor goggie. He was walking along, trying to be a good boy and BAM, Snow cat attack!

    • birdlady26 December 11, 2017 / 5:13 pm

No, I’m sure Mike said that was an ‘Arctic Ice Weasel’. Only looks a little bit like someone of the feline persuasion, stalking the poor puppers.

But seriously, what do we think happened? Is this posed — a human placed the dog up there — or has the dog figured out how to climb up there unaided, using the stone sill on the wall as a platform? Seems dangerous for the dog — they aren’t mountain goats; he could fall. But also seems pretty remarkable. Fences have always been useless against cats, but a six foot tall combination of wall and solid fence will usually keep a dog in. Except this one.
