Historically Hysterical

“You’ll want to get out your cameras for this, because this branch is one of the most historically important sites in the Great Squirrel-Cat War of 1732. It was on a brisk fall evening on September 13th when Nathaniel Fuzzcoate, a spy for the Squirrel Army, raced back to headquarters with news that would turn the tide of the war. Just then, a cat picked up his scent and gave chase, but the quick-thinking Fuzzcoate ran underneath this branch, which knocked the cat out cold.”

“We do a reenactment every year, with a nurse standing by.”

That must be the branch manager, Sharon H.

        I’m ashamed at how long it took me to come up with that.

    This is why we can have any good limbs in the house.

    For safety reason, no cats are allowed in the reenactment so Larry Squirrelington puts on a cat mask and plays the part of the cat.

    What happened to the chipmunk climbs on the cat’s back post? I would follow that chipmunk into battle!

      Probably posted accidentally. I bet it’ll be back tomorrow with a funnier headline.

      It will be back soon. I clicked the “publish” button before I had time to finish writing.

        Oh, I missed it but it sounds good – I’m waiting with ‘baited’ breath! ๐Ÿ˜€

    You want to talk about historical and hysterical?

    Now, I’ve had about a pint of bourbon so please excuse any linguistic anomalies, but I do believe a Democratic candidate has defeated a pedophile neoconfederate ambulatory colostomy bag in the great state of Alabama!

    Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
    He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
    He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword:
    His truth is marching on.

          I saw the news last night, and Mike’s comment was the first thing I saw in my email before I got up. At least it made this 18 degree morning a little easier to deal with. Good thing I live alone because I was cracking up in my bed.

        Perfect! Thatโ€™s worthy of a NY Post or Daily News front page.

        • Smartypants December 13, 2017 / 11:27 am

          Two of the actual headlines I saw this morning were variations on “โ€ฆand the horse you rode in on”! ๐Ÿ˜€

      • Gigi the cat lady December 13, 2017 / 10:21 am

        Mike that was Oakley worthy.

      • Smartypants December 13, 2017 / 10:44 am

        Bwa ha ha!

        That was the first news I saw this morning – I’m thrilled! And it wasn’t even close.

    • debg December 13, 2017 / 11:23 am

      I went to sleep with one less thing to worry about! Fantastic news.

      Mike, that was one of the best puns EVER.
