    Happy New Year everyone!

    I stayed home under a blanket, when midnight rolled around, it was 3 degrees, with a windchill of -16. I was glad when my daughter reported that they had gotten a free taxi to get home, so I didn’t have to go drive her, her SO, and their friends home from the bar. They didn’t want to drink and drive, and asked if I could pick them up if the cab company was too busy (our one cab company offers free rides home on NYE).

      The strongest thing I had was tea. 🙂 I could have used something stronger what with all the screaming children. There were only four, ages 2, 3, and two 5-year-olds. It sounded more like 20. Then my friend’s brother left about 10 to take his two home, then we did Christmas presents and then my friend put her two to bed and it was finally quiet!

      I got home just before 2 am. When I left my friend’s house my car said it was 10 degrees. On my way home it dropped to 6, then 5, then 4, then 5 again, and when I pulled into my parking lot it said 3.

      And someone was parked in my spot.

          I was still up at 3:15 when they left so I went and moved my car (I’m pretty sure I was in a free spot but there’s so much salt on the ground it’s hard to tell since the numbers in the labeled spots are white, but I didn’t want to leave it there just in case). People are supposed to make sure their guests don’t park in reserved spots and also they just sent a reminder about that a couple weeks ago, so I was extra annoyed.
