Corgis always look happy, but the one on the left looks absolutely blissed out! Are we sure they’re not in California?* 😀 😀

I’m a bad Cutetropolitan, instead of squeeing over the cute corgis my first thought was : Wow! Dog beds are expensive! (hangs head down in shame)

I’ve seen a *lot* of orthopedic dog beds that cost upwards of $150 US. Appalling! When we were in Maryland and had our last two dogs, I got a 4-inch (10 cm) thick twin bed memory foam topper from a friend that had been torn into several pieces; I then got el cheapo dog beds at Sam’s Club or Costco or some such, and opened them up and sorted out the memory foam pieces to fill each bed perfectly. So we had our own memory foam dog beds for under $30 each, as I recall!

So based on that, a couple years ago, right after she joined the family, I got a $20 giant dog bed for Melody and we had an old foam mattress topper that I’d used to use which was starting to tear so I’d replaced it, and then folded it in half and placed it on her bed; and Sebastian got a lovely thick pet bed for $20 from Homegoods — I highly recommend them as a place to find nice but inexpensive pet beds! Both dogs are now super-comfy sleeping on the tile floors with all that lovely foam thickness between them and the chilly tile. A little ingenuity goes a long way. 😀

But then again, our neighbor in Virginia got a fancy orthopedic dog bed for

“… from a friend that had been torn into several pieces” — sounds painful! Also, shouldn’t it be “from a friend *who*”? 🙂
