A cat and pony show? Wait, that doesn’t sound right…

OK, first, I think eight cheetah cubs is A LOT. I’m willing to help out – I’ll take one off their hands. The dog who pulls her sled back up the hill – is she the dog who was going to be taught how to use a can opener and change history last week?

My heart stopped reading about that little bichon. She looks so much like my Ricky! I’m so glad the eagle let her go and she was rescued.

The sledding dog is too much! What a clever pup, and having so much fun!

Isn’t the sledding dog great? I’m so impressed with her steering skills!

I’m sorry but the Shed Defender leotard for dogs is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen, now he says it’s good for anxious dogs, well there are much better things for that. He says himself he invented it because he didn’t like his Saint-Bernard shedding, all over the place, well I say if you don’t want fur on your stuff just don’t have a dog!!!

Sorry my threshold of tolerance for stupidity is very low today.

      Amen!
And, I don’t like animals in clothing anyway.

I agree, Gigi, but that leotard is good for laughs! Some of the dogs seem pretty proud of their new duds. (Others not so much.)

OMG eight cheetah cubs! I volunteer to help too!

Those wedding photos are stunning and sweet. Now the bride and groom need to get on a pony with their cat.

I for one welcome our new dog-sledding overlords.

I notice they don’t mention that the $39.99 price tag is for the “Mini” size. The “Giant” size goes for $62.99 (and there are several sizes/price points in between). (Also, on the website those appear to be reduced prices; don’t know if that’s a permanent reduction or a temporary sale.)

I’ve always heard aussie shepherds were smart but this is ridiculously smart – I’m talking genius level! And she looks like she’s having so much fun too!

All the links today were just great but I’m with several other people that the leotard is kinda stupid. I did put my little guy in clothes because he used to get cold but not because he was shedding. If you don’t want shedding, don’t get a dog. Very simple.

That’s it. I get nervous outside sometimes. I can just tell people I was snatched by an eagle from the yard and dropped four miles away then almost froze to death… I must have repressed this memory. Sounds better than my pitiful story.

Poooor doggie. I would never go out again either.

The poor german shepherd’s expression, like he feels his human put the leotard on him just to make him sad.
I wonder if they would help protect against ticks?

So happy for the little bichon – poor doggie, how frightening to be aloft in the talons of a huge bird. Cat on horse, pretty fantastic. But the doggo on the sled is spectacular – to see him purposely doing it over and over because he enjoys it is amazing and once again teaches up how smart and sentient animals are – wonderful.

I’ve been continuing to clean up after our Twelfth Night party – so much salt and crud on the floors – trekked all over the house. I wish I’d had a place to have people put shoes but I was unprepared in that regard. had a great time, music went on ’til after midnight, lots of people, lots of food. We left the house yesterday having only cleaned up what was absolutely necessary and went to another party – I’m having trouble leaving the holidays behind.

We had a golden retriever some years back who had surgery on a tumor on her shoulder, and started removing the bandages instantly. So we put a t-shirt on her and she LOVED it! She was so proud of her shirts, she wore one most of the time for the rest of her life, silly girl! She would have LOVED the doggy leotards, I hate to say. And our last golden, Rusty, had *massive* storm anxiety; I got him an Anxiety Wrap, which is much fancier than a Thundershirt, and it would INSTANTLY reduce his heartbeat by 50%. Like night and day, it was astonishing. He would have loved the leotards, too, although since we lived in New Orleans most of his life, he would have had heatstroke in them — the Anxiety Wrap is a very, very thin stretchy fabric that you could wet for comfort in hot weather. So while the idea of the leotards is completely silly, there are silly dogs out there who would adore wearing them, go figure!

The cat on the pony just tickled my fancy. And such a pretty Siamese! I’m very partial to Siamese, having grown up with them. (Well, mostly one; she lived to nearly 23!) I also am shocked in a good way that all eight cheetah cubs are doing well; I know in the wild they have trouble raising even four, so raising eight is probably only possible with great human support, even if Mom does most of the work. Just not having to hunt for her food probably makes all the difference. And that bichon is not the first small dog I’ve heard picked up by an eagle; fortunately, it’s rare!
