Links: They’re Like Potato Chips

And finally: Leapin’ Lemurs!

BBC reporter Alex Dunlop got a lot of lemur love when he filed a report from the Banham Zoo in Norfolk, U.K. If these outtakes are any indication, the lemurs gave him star treatment. (People, via Andrew Y.)

The butterfly story was so touching! I love that he flew off to go about his life. And how great are lemurs? Pretty feisty.

    “A spirited Dutch duck-luring dog ”

    Uh, oh, Duckie, watch out!

I used to work with a guy whose mom bred petit basset griffon Vendeens. She had passed away a few years earlier but he still had six of her dogs (he was not involved in breeding). We volunteered to help set up a new store one day and he offered to drive so I met him at his house, and I couldn’t even get in the front door cuz of the dog pack who wanted to say hi.

Sam Neill and his piggy kinda look alike. I mean that in a good way.
OMG his little toy pigs! I don’t really know too much of his work but I love him! (And according to IMDB he has an upcoming film called The Guinea Pig Club…)
If I was on Twitter I would totally follow him.

I had thought the Basset Griffon was already a recognized breed – I love that sort of dog – except for the rabbit hunting part! I’d love to have a marauding pack of them greeting me!

Sam Neil does seem very wonderful – I didn’t know who he was but he’s a cutie pie! (I don’t see movies very often.)

I hope both the horse and the butterfly survive. I wonder how long the glue lasts on the butterfly wing – but he has a chance at life that he never would’ve had otherwise. Love that woman for doing that.

I think it might be the Petit Brussels Griffon (‘PBGB’) or something like it that was already a breed – I can picture it at the dog show they have on TV at Thanksgiving.

I knew who Sam Neill was, but I wasn’t particularly a fan…when did he become so attractive? So much kindness and affection and goofiness and appreciation of beauty!

I think you’re right. Petit or full size i’d take one – but maybe not while I have rabbits.

I am in awe of the lady who did surgery on a butterfly’s wing!

We need more nice up-beat people like Sam Neil in this crazy world and also like the horse rescuing people of Kookynie!

It’s lovely to hear *good* celebrity stories these days!!!! And I’m so happy about the rescued critters.

Getting mobbed by lemurs (even bitey ones) = my idea of heaven. John Cleese must be jealous. The lemur keeper at London Zoo told me that, when they opened their lemur house, they asked Cleese to do the honors. He agreed as long as he got to spend some time with them.

    Wonderful links!

I hope the pony has as good a recovery as the horse did. How frightened she must have been.

Amazing butterfly surgery! I wonder if the butterfly can close his wing?

I can’t tell you how happy I am to see that Sam Neill is just as lovely as I’d hoped he’d be.

I’d only seen a still pic of the reporter and the lemurs. LOVE the video. Lemurs are the best.
