From Fiona With Love

On this day that’s all about love, here’s a valentine from the most-loved hippo in the world. In this footage never before shared online, the Cincinnati Zoo takes us back to the days when the plucky preemie got cuddles and care and tons of love.

Wonderful! I can’t believe they didn’t release this stuff before, I particularly love the part where she’s falling asleep under water.

It’s like watching a huge aquatic kitten falling asleep…

I love the part where Bibi is licking Fiona’s back.

Her happy trust in the humans taking care of her is so touching and heartening.

I loved all the bits, but I was amazed by the parts where they were seemed to me to be teaching her how to be a hippo. What amazing people.

That is one happy baby hippo, surrounded by love. My fav part was when she trotted in the back area, looked over at the camera on her right, seemed to say “oh hai” and continued walking on. Such a star!

I’m in love all over again and want to give Fiona nose scritchies. Yes, I choked up watching her frolic and play.

That’s how I feel – in love all over again. She’s so interactive, like a dog would be. She seems to happy – what a darling creature.

I love when she is running around all sassy and trying to cronch on everything. And the bit with the towel!
