Don’t Blow Your Own Horn

“Honey, I need to tell you something. I know you’ve been practicing very hard and making a lot of progress, and it’s been really inspiring to see you getting passionate and pursuing your dream. I would never want to take that away from you, honest. But… well, I just checked with the New York Philharmonic, and it turns out they don’t have any need for a professional party horn player.”

“WHAT?! But… but it’s a wind instrument!”

She should have done like that nice Ed Grimley and taken up triangle, Sharon H.

Well, so much for my backup plan if this data analyst gig doesn’t work out.

From his facial expression, I don’t think kitty enjoys having a party trumpet blown in his face.

Cat toy or wind instrument? Not an everyday conundrum?

That cat’s expression is so perfect! Pretty cat, too. I also like the Ed Grimley reference – I always loved that character. I read Martin Short’s biography and Ed was never meant to be a public character. He used him as a diffuser of arguments with his wife. Sometimes when they were arguing about something she would say “Let me talk to Ed” and he would switch into Ed mode and all would be well.

      That’s very sweet – I hadn’t heard that.

I truly believe animals can feel most of the same emotions we do. Including the occasional, “What the–?”

Loved Ed Grimley. Even the cartoon.
