Border collie herds ducklings
Solo the border collie has to learn those important sheep herding skills, but what if you don’t have a flock of sheep handy? You get a wading pool full of ducklings and give Solo a practice session in a convenient small space. As you can see, Solo needs more practice before she can solo with real sheep.

The sheepdog trials at Highland festivals use ducks. I wonder if the ducklings are being trained along with the dog? ?

I actually thought she did an excellent job! The ducklings seemed to all stay together most of the time – just as far away from her as they could get.
Duckling: “Crap, no matter which way I paddle, I end up going toward her!”
I think the dog was amused by the fact the ducklings kept going to the other side of the pool when she moved.
ETA, that is a fresh pool of water. I had ducklings when I was a kid, and it didn’t take long for the 3 of them to make the water very nasty.
One of the older staff members at the wildlife sanctuary explained it this way: “You clean out their pool and they get in that nice clean water and they’re so happy that they s***.” Not how I express happiness, but I’m not a duck.
LOL, I’ve heard that used as a figure of speech, but not literally!
Looks like the ducklings couldn’t get out of the pool. Not sure about that.
Solo is off to a wonderful start. Her tail made me happy.
She’s good at “Come by” and “Away to me” but not so good with the “Lie down” parts.
