Now here’s gratitude for ya: A nice man goes out on a limb to rescue a baby woodpecker, and what thanks does he get? The crazy critter pecks on the man’s arm and complains because it isn’t made of wood! Silly bird — doesn’t he know that the man can’t be made of wood unless he weighs the same as a duck?

This impertinent woodpecker persistently pokes a person from the Polish pet patrol, perhaps presuming he’s a pine or possibly a poplar, but in place of plopping him in the pokey, the policeman appears perfectly pleased.
