Little Blue Riding Shark

Once upon a time, there was a kind little shark who set out through the woods to deliver some candy to her gramma. That’s right, it was a candygram. But before she could get there, the Big Bad Wolf demanded “give me all your goodies, I haven’t had a bite all day,” which is a really stupid thing to say to a shark. And so Little Blue Riding Shark ate the Big Bad Wolf, and as the foolish dog disappeared into the shark’s mouth, they transformed into the Sorting Hat from Harry Potter, at which point the story stopped making any sense whatsoever. The end.

This is a dream you had last night, isn’t it?

I will never forget these early days of SNL with Chevy Chase as the shark. I’m so glad I’m not alone here!

I never saw that one when it first aired. I was 10 days old when SNL premiered. Seen lots of reruns, of course, but I’m not sure I’ve actually seen that skit. I’ll have to look it up when I get home tonight.

When I think of Weekend Update, I think Kevin Nealon.

I remember when the shark became a land shark! It took me years to figure out the joke, because I was about 14 when that skit first aired.

The candygram line gave me a belly laugh!

Yep, that was the kicker. Then the sorting hat. What’s NTMTOM got in his Wheaties!

But the story, confusing as it is, has a happy ending. Not long after, the combined shark/pup/hat would enjoy world fame, however fleeting:

Later the human came out of the house and said “I’m gonna need a bigger deck”

I love this. The broken sidewalk really nails it.

I found it when I was looking for the SNL pic I posted above. Had to use it. 🙂

I like to sit and watch the world go by. I’m very good at it. I would sit there all day.

My friends dragged me to the RiffTrax of Sharknado 2 last year. The first time we went, it was raining so hard that the satellite feed cut out (in multiple areas of the country, apparently) and after waiting about 20 minutes we ended up getting our money back and going out for dinner instead. We also got a free ticket to use later, which we used the next week when they were running it again.

I thought the weather was rather appropriate. We had to run to the car and of course no one had an umbrella.

The Little Blue Riding Shark/Sorting Hat makes me so happy I could incubate a sprinkler.

Reminds me of the fairy tales they used to show on the old Bullwinkle show. Fractured fairy tales I think they were called.

My new favorite word: Hufflepuff! 🙂

This is pretty much how I tell stories, too.

I would love to see this Shark-Puppy on a roomba; between this dog and the cat that usually rides the roomba, this would revolutionize commercials as we know them (and not a minute too soon)……!
