Bridge on the River Kawaii

At Nagasaki Bio Park in Japan, there is a magical island full of guinea pigs, where they cuddle and drink and make their little chirpy guinea pig sounds. And when it’s time to go to their homes for the night, someone lowers a magical bridge and they all scamper across. Well, mostly all.

Meanwhile, at Saitama Children’s Zoo, they have an entire guinea pig railroad system. All aboard!

Hee hee hee! I actually saw that video first, then found the original to post here. But I’m glad you shared that song, and welcome to the comments area, by the way, come back anytime.

Wanders off happily humming Guinea pig bridge to clean my daughter’s Hamster-Chihuahua’s baby pool home.

Mike, I know you cannot reveal specifics on the commenters, but is Meg “Meg”?

        Although,
        -eyeing Guinea pig-
        -thinking of size of Chihuahua-
Maybe too similar in size. 😉

Guinea pigs are about the cutest little creatures -mini Capys – love those long upper lips, the waddle! Slays me. The proportion of body size to feet! And I do love the little obstreperous guy at the end who turns around and waddles off in the wrong direction. Maybe he’s nearsighted – or he forgot something.

And, of course, it’s a “he” peeg.

Allergy meds allow me to focus on one thing at a time. The first video, it was all the little nails going clicky-clicky on the bridge. The second video had me stunned trying to figure out why all those guinea pigs sound like baby chicks.

That was too cute, assembly line guinea pigs. In the second video, besides the adorable peegs, I saw how well behaved the children acted. No one reached out to grab a peeg. I’m sure they were asked not to but I can tell you that just about anywhere else, the kids or adults, wouldn’t have minded.

Not sure if anyone picked up on the title but I’ll could think of was the theme to the movie Bridge Over the River Kwai. Plus who knew that Kawaii in Japanese means “CUTE”?? And yes, very cute videos.

That was the tune I expected to hear above. I noticed the spelling difference and figured there had to be a reason (place name?) but wasn’t smart enough to get.

Yep, and it is heard frequently from sweet young things who chirp “Kawaiiiiii!” at the slightest provocation. 🙂

I need one of those bridges to lead right to my house! Oooohh….chirpy guinea pig heaven.

Its like the Running of the Bulls but cuter. Must be one of those wildlife corridors Harrison Ford and Ted Turner keep carping on.

The wild cry of those felines would have me scampering across that bridge for safety.

    I love this so much.

    Thanks, Nom Tom!

I had 2 peegs when I was a kid but they were as big as those! I also was expecting the music from Bridge on the River Kwai, but I like the Guinea pig song, cute without being mind numbing.

Love it!!!! Seems to me that the last peeg who starts going in at the end, then decides to turn around and leave, has bee eating too well and got a little too corpulent for the opening to his home, so he decided to go find a hotel for plus-size peegs. Maybe he will start a campaign for larger facilities better suited for gourmet peegs who have indulged too freely. I’ll sign his petition, if he starts one. 😀
