Something Sphinx About this Guy

“Hello, friend! You look like seekers of historical wisdom, yes? Well, you have come to the proper place, because my great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-uncle Ecch Ra posed for the bottom half of the statue you see behind me. For low price of $49.95 I give you behind-the-scenes tour, very informative, mostly legal.”

You can trust me, I’m a cat.

Now is he really that color is has he just been hanging out in the desert too long?

I’d never really thought about this, but I wonder how color correlates with long-term survival among stray/feral/free-range housecats, and how the relationship compares between different areas. Do some environments apply stronger selection pressures than others?

Well, it’s true of people, so why not other species?

Yeah, the last part is kind of a dumb question now that I re-read it.

Oh, thank you for posting that – wonderful and charmingly funny – love the look on the one’s face when he catches his mate “in flagrante”.

It’s hard not to put human emotions on them — us and our damn emotions. 😉 … I guess priorities are priorities and I have to respect survival of offspring wins over hurt feelings. Or perhaps other Booby was the mailman… 😀

“The key to a successful long-term booby partnership is the equitable sharing of nest duties year after year. ”

            Words to live by.

The pic of the proud parent with two unfinished muppet babies just about killed me.

I am reminded of the introductory scene from Disney’s ‘Aladdin’…

Sand cat. (Not really–those look more like the offspring of a housecat and a fennec fox.)

I love them! Even the adults look like kittens!

I would completely trust this kitty with all my money whilst taking his informative and mostly legal tour.

Don’t fall for the ‘belly rub’ scam.

    • fkaWaldenPond March 6, 2017 / 9:27 pm

Yes, I have heard they always have a hidden ‘claws’ in the fine print.

      • Jendeyan March 7, 2017 / 8:08 am

It’s so hard not to fall for that. So much floofiness on da belleh!

        Also, nice one, fkaWaldenPond!

This cat is a feline counterpart of one of my bosses at work, he looks like this cat when he smiles (=all the time)
