How did Maru and Hana ring in the new year? Maru got a box seat to watch the New Year’s Eve party, and then he and Hana did a little grass.

    I loved Maru’s rejection of the grass originally offered to Hana: “Mom, I’m not gonna eat that! She spit on it! Yuch!”

    Maru and I have the same approach to New Year’s Eve: sit around with our muffintops out, waiting for people to stuff food in our faces. It’s a perfect evening.

    That had an unusual amount of background noise. Was someone else washing dishes? Do they have an indoor fountain? Did Maru leave the faucet on in his cupboard kitchen??

        Wow, and I thought *our* dancing Santa and such were annoying! Not that His Roundness is bothered; he just chills. Crazy cat!

              Yes, a little of that goes a loooooong way.

              In our building lobby, we have Latke Larry along with some little rocking or otherwise animated Santas. The forbearance shown by our desk staff during the holiday season is mighty. I suppose what makes it bearable is seeing how much the toddlers love these things. And they do … oh, they do …
