As society moves towards greater understanding and acceptance of gender-fluid individuals, a new wrinkle appears: species-fluid pets. “I just feel more like myself when I become ‘Tiffany’,” says Fido X (not his real name), speaking of his alter ego, a college sophomore who works nights at Starbucks. “It’s who I was meant to be.”
