Total Redonk

The door closed, and the two men were alone in the dim light of the storage room. Quaid watched as the man opened his shirt to reveal — not so much a man, but a child-man creature growing from within him. At that moment, Quaid knew he had come face to face with the mutant revolutionary leader, the one they called Kuato.

I want the puppy. If it must include the big doggie, so be it.

Sometimes I amuse myself trying to figure out just what the photo is going to be after your descriptions. Needless to say, my efforts are invariably futile.

As has been said many times, you really need to leave your brain to science.

    • allein February 11, 2016 / 3:04 pm

Sometimes I accidentally scroll a little too far and then I scroll back up real quick so I don’t see too much of the picture before I’m done reading. I saw the top of big doggie’s head, though, and I had no idea where this was going.

      • Haha February 11, 2016 / 3:48 pm

I specifically look at NTMTOM’s work on my phone screen so I don’t see the picture first. No laptops for NTMTOM. I too am in the delay the picture gratification so as to extend the musings and enjoyment camp. 🙂

        • Kar February 11, 2016 / 3:57 pm

Do the same. Read the text, try to imagine what could possibly apply to the description, then scroll down.

          Am ALWAYs surprised.

        • allein February 11, 2016 / 4:12 pm

If I’m at work, I keep the browser window small for other reasons, but it means I don’t generally see the picture in my email withuot scrolling. If I’m on my tablet, I sometimes see the top of the picture (depends how long the text is). Sometimes I have to avert my eyes.

Where was that edit button when I posted that one, huh?!

(Not that it would do me any good since I just noticed the typo and it’s two hours later.)

            Edit: Hey, it works! 🙂

  3. Faye February 11, 2016 / 3:10 pm

Astounding. Thank goodness they were adopted together.

I’d like to believe the little dog thinks he’s protecting the big dog.

NTMTOM I pictured that twin human mutant from the movie Total Recall.

      • allein February 11, 2016 / 3:33 pm

I haven’t seen the movie. I figured out the reference from the title, though. After a minute or two…

      • Faye February 11, 2016 / 5:50 pm

Roflol! By the time I commented I had forgotten the title (old synapses). So I thought of Total Recall thinking I was just wonderful. Not so much. Subliminal clue from NTMTOM.

      • Michelle P February 12, 2016 / 9:03 am

Or from Hell Boy 2 (which I haven’t seen… I just happened to be in the room when my husband was watching it. This is the only scene I know)

    • Julie February 11, 2016 / 4:24 pm

Faye – as a fellow Chihuahua owner – we both know that the little dog is boss in that relationship 🙂

      • Faye February 11, 2016 / 5:52 pm

If not at that minute he is now!!

  4. Kar February 11, 2016 / 4:01 pm

I love how this family couldn’t separate these two! Wonder if they wanted the big or little doggie first. Instead they took the package deal.

I hope these two have many years together in their new forever home.

  5. allein February 11, 2016 / 4:13 pm

    Did you pass?

    • allein February 11, 2016 / 4:15 pm

Hey, no fair. NTMTOM deleted the comment I responded to. Now my snarky makes no sense.

      • Haha February 11, 2016 / 4:28 pm

No worries Allein, I saw both and approve your question. NTMTOM can’t get away with it when he sends us email notifications. 😉

        • allein February 11, 2016 / 4:49 pm

At least one person won’t think I’m crazy. 😛

          • Haha February 11, 2016 / 5:08 pm

It has been a long day and I first read that as “At least one crazy person won’t think I’m crazy.”
If my crazy validates your crazy does the crazy cancel each other out?

Testing NTMTOM’s new edit feature. 😉
Ha! It worked. 🙂 NTMTOM can you apply this to life?

            • Haha February 11, 2016 / 5:14 pm

I watched the end of the countdown expecting foreworks…

            • allein February 11, 2016 / 6:11 pm

              !!

      • Not That Mike The Other Mike February 11, 2016 / 4:31 pm

Sorry! I’m testing a comment-related feature and as a result I’ve been making and then deleting a lot of test comments.

        • Haha February 11, 2016 / 4:41 pm

Again, no worries NTMTOM! I appreciate all the work you are doing to make a nice place for us! And thank you for fixing my editing error. I think you have a good heart. 🙂

  6. Shan February 11, 2016 / 4:31 pm

    *giggle, snort*

  7. Emmberrann February 11, 2016 / 4:49 pm

Really did lol at this. If you lol when you’re alone in the house, is it really funny?

  8. Cheryl February 11, 2016 / 5:12 pm

There is another one of these mutants. Don’t recall where I found it/them.

    • Kar February 11, 2016 / 6:47 pm

And I for one welcome our new overlords….

    • Julie February 11, 2016 / 10:21 pm

      I love this!

    • 6rabbits February 12, 2016 / 12:10 am

Much approve these (2? 4?) doggy “mutants” over the one in the movie!
(What does it mean that I recognized the movie, not from the post’s title, but from the characters’ names?) Didn’t know what the picture’d be, but I snort-laffed when I saw the puppy head!?

  9. bossyterriers February 11, 2016 / 6:32 pm

    looks like a kangaroo baby!

  10. amyliz February 11, 2016 / 7:13 pm

Everything about this post makes me happy: NTMTOM’s commentary, the picture, and learning that these two buddies were adopted together! ☺

  11. Mariana Paes February 12, 2016 / 5:13 am

Read text, scroll down, laugh really REALLY loud, co-workers are now sure I hear voices in my head.

    • Haha February 12, 2016 / 7:28 am

And your co-workers are correct. It is NTMTOM’s voice.

      • Faye February 12, 2016 / 7:33 am

We allllll hear NTMTOM’s voice in our heads. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

        • Michelle P February 12, 2016 / 9:07 am

What accent should NTMTOM’s voice be in? What is YOUR accent Faye? For that matter, where are NTMTOM fans from?

I’m from Vancouver, Canada therefore everything in my head sounds like any generic news announces from California. Definitely west coast with just a teensy weensy smidge of “oot” instead of “out” and “aboot” instead of “about” thrown in.

          • jerzowa February 12, 2016 / 11:35 am

            I’m from Szczecin, Poland! 🙂

            • Michelle P February 12, 2016 / 3:01 pm

Very cool! I am an absolute sucker for an eastern European accent. Everything sounds so badass!

          • Faye February 12, 2016 / 5:40 pm

Michelle P, I have a NY Long Island accent with a fading touch of New England Connecticut Yankee.

Long Islanders pronounce Long Island as Longuyland. And say New Yawk. Connecticut Yankees say Spanish as Spaynish with a long a sound. Being Jewish I also can fall into a Jewish Yiddish accent with a touch of New York City depending who I am talking with.

            • Faye February 12, 2016 / 5:45 pm

I would say I sound like a very very toned down soft spoken Fran Drescher (her in real life not when she’s acting). I’m sure you can google her.

          • Faye February 12, 2016 / 6:07 pm

NTMTOM with a David Attenborough voice would be fun!!

        • Gigi_the cat lady February 12, 2016 / 9:35 am

I’m also from Canada but the East coast in Montreal and I hear NTMTOM’s voice as a standard neutral American accent like I hear on TV news programs.

          • Haha February 12, 2016 / 10:03 am

I humbly request that the next time there is an extended story, an accompanying recording of you, NTMTOM, reading your story to us be included so that those of us who hear the voice of the person as we read will be able to assign the correct sounds. Please and Thank you. 🙂

            • Gigi_the cat lady February 12, 2016 / 10:47 am

Very good idea, I second the motion!

          • Michelle P February 12, 2016 / 3:03 pm

Bonjour fellow Canucklehead! I currently have a number of co-workers who hail from Montreal so I should have no trouble conjuring up your accent in my mind. 🙂

          • Faye February 12, 2016 / 5:55 pm

Gigi my father was born in Saskatchewan but raised in Montreal. He came to the United States before WW11. I grew up without hearing him sound Canadian. But my Uncles and Cousins were all aboot the aye!
