While traveling the northern plains of old Mexico, a wandering troubadour was set upon by bandits and left for dead. Gathering his remaining possessions, a pink sombrero and a secondhand squirrel costume, he vowed to right the wrongs and protect the innocent. And thus was born the folk hero known as: El Mariachi!

‘Zorro the Gay Blade’ anyone?
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Okay, my first reaction was “what..?” so then I clicked on the reddit link and it says “My friend rehabilitated and released a squirrel 6 years ago. She still stops by for snacks and lets my friend put hats on her.” Which is the best description. 🙂
That is both adorable and funny.
The teenager across the street rehabilitates squirrels. She’s nearly finished raising one, who lives in the tree in her front yard and comes to the porch several times a day for his bottle. It’s insanely adorable!
pix plz plz plz
I LOVE squirrels. I read somewhere that they’re the only undomesticated mammal species that lives openly with us.
My mother died last year and my sister and I are close to putting her house on the market. One of the difficult parts of this is that there is an old, now dead, Japanese maple in her backyard that generations of squirrels have lived in. For years we’ve been filling a bird feeder that hangs on the tree and we scatter seeds on a bench under the tree. The birds knock seeds to the ground from the feeder. The squirrels get the benefit of all this. I’ve always imagined that they tell other squirrels about their great house and how they get food delivered right to their door once a week.I will miss them and the birds.
?
This kinda breaks my heart.
Oh, we do the same at our house and I worry for the critters when we’re no longer here. But they’ve lived here before and they will continue to do so, being the resourceful beings that they are.
I would call that man in the squirrel costume “El Snackadero”.
😀 !
El señor Ardilla does have the beautiful darks eyes of Antonio Banderas.
mmmmmmm
Mike, you are ON FIRE today. Thank you for the laughs. They’re keeping me grounded as my job search commences.
Good luck Debg.
Gee, DEBG, I was thinking how resourceful you are – you could work in construction if you so desired! You can do anything – you are my hero! Well, one of them, anyway!
You guys are so great. I’ve spent all day working on my resume, now that I’ve started to narrow down what I want. Yesterday, as I was looking at postings, it felt as though I wasn’t qualified for *anything.* Today it’s been affirming to go back over my career–I have too done stuff!
Well, whatever else you do, be sure you include your hobby of renovating your house, and stress up to code (which I assume it is?). It just shows your initiative and willingness to do new and different things or, as the government puts it, “other duties as required.”
Yes, up to code–I’m big on code! But if I start writing about all my hobbies, there won’t be room for much else! (I can save it for interviews,(
