Um, I think there’s been some kind of mistake here. My brother and I both ordered jet black paint, but my coat seems to have turned out a little spotty.
OMG it’s a baby jaguar cuddling a baby panther, via Imgur two jaguar cubs, via The Express (and thanks to ^oo^ for the correction).
Oh my. That’s an explosion of cute.
Eeep! I’m going to have to let others be witty first. Maybe I can respond after. This is just too much.
Well the only thing my brain can come up with now is
GAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH
DED
Someone correct me here but aren’t they both black jaguars? I thought that black jaguars produce black and spotty cubs, where the spotty ones just turn black a little later?
The spots disappear!? ?
I wish my age spots would do that!
And of course, black is beautiful.
I feel better now. ?
Right you are Birdcage: http://www.express.co.uk/news/nature/630977/two-rare-jaguar-cubs-born-black-spotted-Kent-Wingham-Wildlife-Park
Thanks for (ahem) spotting that! I’ve updated the post a little.
The black one seems to be a bit blotty too. I think the spotty one just needs a second coat.
They don’t need decals or pin striping. They are adorable just as they are.
Ah yes, but with white racing stripes they could be skunkats!
Black panther are just leopard with a lot of melanin in their skin, they still have the spots but they are difficult to see because of the black of their fur and …………
Sorry my brain has melted from the cute.
Better get a bucket because I am about to puke a rainbow.
“Cleanup on Aisle Squee!”
Your paint job is perfect, little one! These little knuckleheads are the epitome of cute!
Please, can I have them? Pretty please with sugar on top? PLEASEEEEEEEEE?!?!?!!?!!?!?
15% of all global computer communications is cats.
This looks like an especially cute episode of Maury Povich, DNA Testing, the zoo edition
Actually NTMTOM, you weren’t really wrong… a black jaguar is also a panther. And a black leopard is a panther. But a jaguar is not a leopard.
Confused? Here’s Wikipedia: “A black panther is the melanistic color variant of any Panthera species. Black panthers in Asia and Africa are leopards (Panthera pardus) and black panthers in the Americas are black jaguars (Panthera onca).”
So, basically, “panther” is a descriptive term rather than a taxonomic one.
Good grief, double heart-melt. I hope someone gave those two furballs a large dose of cuddling shortly after the photo session.
