Someone asked if I could create a quick way back to the “previous article” and “next article” links just above the comments. While looking into that, I found a system to add a second pair of previous/next arrows on the side of the page instead.
The arrows won’t appear on narrower screens, such as iPads, but should appear on most laptops and desktops. Let me know what you think.
I like them. They’re unobtrusive enough that they shouldn’t cause motion sickness problems for those who have that issue, but also quite useful for navigation. Good find!
useful and descrete
I like the arrows. Just hanging out on the side of the screen until you move the cursor over them. Then a bright red target! 🙂
I like that they are independent of the posts. I don’t mind scrolling all the way back to the top before going to the previous or next post, but I’m glad that I don’t have to.
What about the dessert menu link? Cheese plate? Vegan only?
I could go for brunch..
I’m making waffles, if someone could warm the syrup and set the table.
I have real organic maple syrup in the fridge. I’ll just pop it in the microwave for a few seconds. Unfortunately I used up the last of the blueberry topping in my yogurt.
*wonders if my parents still have my grandmother’s heart-shaped waffle maker…*
May I join you?
Of course!
May I join you?
love them!
ooooeeee!
Yes. I like these. Thank you Mike!
Those are cool. They don’t show up in Chrome at work because I keep the window too small (I maximized the window to full screen and they magically appeared), but they might come in handy at home.
I don’t see any arrows but then I’m at work right now and the conputers are so out of date they don’t show half of the content like the picture at the top.
I didn’t have internet service last evening at home (or TV or phone also from the same provider) so I’ll check tonight if I seem them on my Mac.
Me likey. (Me also likey the feeling like we are all playing a part of site development at this early stage! Like we are passengers disembarking from the Mayflower into the new world of Cuteopia …..)
This works! No motion sickness (or moron sickness)! And the buttons work on iPad!
Mike, you are brilliant ????
I like it! Worked great once I figured out which arrow to click; I’m directionally-challenged in general, though. Although not as much as my best friend, who could get lost in a cul-de-sac. 😛
Arrows work on my tablet when I have it in landscape orientation, though I usually keep the screen rotation turned off so it doesn’t do that.
