“It is such an honor and a privilege to meet you, I am a huge fan of your work. I know this is a clichรฉ and you probably hear this all the time, but you have been such a big inspiration in my life. Whenever I’m lost in life, I just ask myself ‘what would giant rubber duckie do?’ ”

Wait .. WHAT Mirror ?!?
?
You make kayak time lots of fun . . .
Such a look of adoration in the little guy’s eyes.
Giant Rubber Ducky is a practitioner of Zen Buddhism : don’t just do something, sit there.
Ha!
Aw, that makes me all nostalgic for CO and The Rules of Cuteness: “A thing, accompanied by a smaller version of that thing, is always cute.”
Yes!
Rubber Ducky is a better earworm than Paparazzi. Thank you.
Remember Ernie wanting to join the Muppet Band but he wouldn’t let go of his rubber ducky – great song “You got to Put Down The Duckie…If you wanna play the saxophone.”
Gee, thanks for the earworm, Murray! Now I’ll be singing “Rubber ducky, you’re the one” in my head for the rest of the day!

The original “Put Down the Duckie”
I have been to see the Giant Rubber Duckie! It has a certain quality in person that you can’t get from pictures. A vast volume of sheer bright yellow-ness. Reflections off the Duckie bathe everything around it in yellow light.
In the days of Western Expansion there was a phrase, “I have seen the elephant” for which I’ve heard various explanations – it was a way of saying one had seen much of the world. I think we have a new phrase in the making – “I have seen the Rubber Duckie”.
I love that we are slowly building our own Cutetropolis language :
Hamster dog
I’m so happy, I could incubate a sprinkler
And now, I have seen the Rubber Duckie
Is anyone (hint to Mike) keeping a list?
And don’t forget “Love Tank” for Wombatses.
I just learned the giant rubber duckie is going to be at the Duluth (MN) Tall Ships festival this coming weekend! Wish I was able to attend. I’m sure the tall ships are amazing, but I think seeing that duckie would be the highlight. It’s something I’ve wanted to see ever since first hearing about it years ago. So close, but yet so far.
