Me too, without the rain. I can’t hit the snooze button forever, sadly.
What gorgeous birdies! Love their sweet, expressive faces.

Yeah, I’ve been kinda pushing it the past couple weeks, but our company’s CFO was coming to visit and give us a little update on the business, so we had that at 9:00 and I wanted to make sure I got here with time to settle in…and then he got stuck in traffic and it got pushed back to 10 anyway. (And I spent most of my “settling in” time installing updates and rebooting my computers.)
These bird videos kinda make me want one.

Hiding my face in the blanket doesn’t work for me either.
Yellow McYellowface, you can come climb in my pocket and I’ll make sure you have a restful visit.

That was me this morning, trying to sleep late on my first day as a retiree, putting the cover over my head, but just like this little blue bird, my cat Mia was having none of it!
Yes, it does. Gigi, it will take a while to get used to the idea that
your schedule is yours (and, well, Mia’s) to make and to follow.
Once this sinks in, WhooHoo! and Yippee! and Huzzah!????

Try putting your head under the pillow. That works for me, for a while….
Congrats on retirement!

GiGi! You didn’t have to do a final Friday? Wow! Congratulations and may you enjoy your retirement to the fullest.
LOVE those birdies – makes me want one, too. I’ve never had a bird. Very snuggly.

Congratulations! I found the first six months of retirement bliss. You know the saying “[w]ork expands to fill the time allotted?” True about everything.

Aw, so sweet. I suspect that yellow boid is very young. My boid doesn’t snuggle like that inside a blanket (some birds with different feather structures really do not care for the feeling of anything rubbing against them, whether fabric or hands) – but he does get broody and fluffed up when he’s getting tired. He’ll tuck one foot up into the warmth of his chest feathers and he’ll tuck his head under a wing and make cute little noises or quiet little whisper-words. There’s nothing cuter, in my humble opinion, than a sleepy boid.
Always me. Every. Single. Morning. And many afternoons.

I am so not a morning person, from the time I was very young. I’ve always loved staying up into the wee hours when the world is quiet.

Way to go GIGI…hopefully it will be a rewarding time for you. And yes, create a new routine around furball’s wishes!

Thanks for the well wishes everyone! I got paintings as a retirement gift from work, as soon as I put then up on the wall I’ll post a photo, I think you’ll like them.
That was totally me this morning. (Okay, every morning.)
At least the rain waited until after I got to work.

Congrats on the retirement, Gigi! Mia will obviously keep you from fully embracing a life of leisure.
Congratulations Gigi! Welcome to the club.
Napping works too.

Birdcage, you painted the most beautiful word picture of your baby.
Yes. Awww sleepy Merlin.
I love the idea that your bird whispers!
