As Mildred waited nervously outside the warden’s office, she wondered if she would be able to explain why she was caught digging a hole so close to the south wall. She feared that her excuse of “I was burying a bone” might not be sufficiently convincing.

      Those brow dots really do accentuate the look of innocence – and, yes, the hover test was the kicker – and it probably was a shinbone he was trying to bury.
