And finally: Excuse Me, Are You Food?
Vancouver Island filmmaker Russell Clark took a film crew to swim with sea lions off the coast of Hornby Island, and found their bark is worse than their bite. The curious sea lions surrounded the divers and even gave them a few test nibbles. “It’s not painful at all,” Clark told the CBC. “They want to see if you’re squishy I think.”

You know that desk isn’t going to keep kitty from sitting on your work.
Go Grampa! Best comment on that article:
“And in other news. A man raised 6 stray wifes while his cat told him no.” 😀
Love Maru’s indignance at Hana getting all the attention. “Don’t you take my picture at all?!?!” Maru’s so neglected.
And I want the otter table. And some cake.
I love the sea lions video, it’s the underwater equivalent of being mobbed by puppies, they should be called sea puppies not sea lions!
I’m adding being a chew toy for sea puppies to my bucket list!!!
I want the hippo table (FIONA!) and some cake. And some secret kittens/
Happy birthday, darling Hana.
My subject line when I sent that to Mike was “Now I want a Fiona table…” 🙂
I am immediately placing an order for 5 Kitty Tables for all our conference rooms at work. I trust they come with kitties already installed!
I think they come with a coupon, like an ant farm – selecting your own kitteh is half the fun!
Kitty Farm = Our Homes
That kitty table is adorable, and very cool-looking.
Happy Birthday Hana! Seems like only months ago she was a little thing tormenting Maru. Hopefully, we’ll see a birthday video in the next day or so.
OMG that sea lion video was amazing. I would consider it an honor to be nibbled by such gorgeous creatures. Sea lions seem to be as curious as cats.
I love the birthday hats that Mugumogu puts on Maru and Hana for each year. I am very curious if this is a “Mugumogu thing” or if it is a “Japanese thing” and if it is a “Japanese thing” – are the hats exclusively for animals or do people wear them also for their birthdays?
Those divers have phenomenal self control! I would soooo be hugging the sealions.
from the kitty table write -up :
“Putting away the cat from your lap top was like a sentimental ritual of temporary farewell.”
uh, what? haha!
Yeah, more like “challenge accepted.”
The sea lions are soooo beautiful! And their gentle curiosity and playfulness!
What I noticed is, don’t sea lions ever blink? And then I thought, why would they need to? We blink to keep our eyes moist with tears, and salt water basically IS tears. So now I wonder if they need to blink when they are ashore.
And, it’s all fun and games till someone gets hurt. One of those sea lions put his mouth around what looked like either an air hose (which would have been bad news for the diver) or a power cable (which would have been bad news for the sea lion). However, maybe they never DO bite down hard unless something is squishy.
