I love to go shop for cat food at Mondou ( it’s like PetSmart in the US) because I almost always get a chance to pet a dog. Today I got to pet the cutest 3 month old lab puppy, he got all excited when he smelled my cats on my pants.
Whenever I go to Bed, Bath and Beyond or AC Moore, I go into the PetSmart that’s in the same shopping center just in case someone has a dog I can pet. If not at least I get to see the kitties in the adoption center, and sometimes doggies in the grooming salon.
Boy, we are cut from the same cloth – I do the same thing when I go to Pet-Smart – hope to see and subsequently stroke a pooch. Failing that I go gaze at the cats up for adoption.
That’s me, too!!!! I stalk around for pup-petting opportunities and then go to the cat adoption area and make sad, longing eyes at the adoption people if they are there, hoping that maybe I can hold a cat for a minute while they clean cages…..
The one near me just lets the kitties run around in the area behind the cages while they clean. Not a lot of space but they have a couple cat towers for them to climb on.
You people are asking for trouble. I too will pet other people’s doggies at PetSmart, but I specifically plan my trips to avoid cat adoption days. I’m all too prone to succumb, and 7 cats is plenty.
The cat adoption center is a permanent fixture. They have 10 or 12 cubicles with glass fronts for kitties and a little space behind (probably less than 6 feet deep and running the length of the cat cages plus the door to get back there) for their stuff, and sometimes they’ll leave some of the doors open so the cats can play. There’s also a table against the wall in front with a box so you can leave donations of food and cat litter for the animal shelter that the cats come from.
Occasionally they’ll have dog adoption events and those are sorely tempting.
I have found my on-line home!!! (I think i knew that already.) Petsmart is in the same place as my favorite Chinese buffet, PetCo near A C Moore. I gaze at the kitties, and admire birds and rodents. Okay, I babble at the kitties.
I have to avoid bunny adoption days.☹️ That’s how at one point I had NINE bunnies (plus a guinea pig and a cuddle of dwarf hammies.) I have trouble saying no to needy anipals.??

Today a plumber came to my home. Walking in, he asked if we had any dangerous dog when my cats came running to see what was happening. Mr plumber went “aaaw” 🙂 it was so cute. Catlove definitely adds to all guys’ charm.
It’s so true. Catguys are sexy by definition. I had 4 workmen over last Friday, and I think they were all catguys. Some had been to my house before and seemed to enjoy a repeat visit.
