History has largely forgotten the Les cavaliers de chenille (“caterpillar cavalry”) of the French Foreign Legion, because they often arrived late to battle. Members of this regiment often evolved into les bombardiers papillon — the butterfly air force.

Um…
French Foreign Legion Mua’d Dib? Or Friendly Caterpillar Beau Geste?
Dune done dang! I like this planet!
Mike makes it so.
What the heck are those, banana slugs?
Seriously thought the other end was the end
Me too, I totally expected them to go charging off to the right. Too cute!
Um, that’s weird. Someone had too much time on their hands.
I am typing one handed, because I seem to have broken my left hand. Actually, the golden retriever I found in my backyard yesterday did it. I was taking her to the front yard to put her on a chain to wait for her owner to come get her, and the traffic scared her. She managed to pull me down in the driveway while making her escape. For your enjoyment, a picture of the bruised hand, with pinky finger taped to the next finger, because it hurts less that way. Also you will notice the bandaid covering the scrape on the other side of my hand.
Oh no! Can we all chip in to get you a bubble or something?
That’s what my daughter said. The other one asked if I needed a suit of armor.
ETA: I got through more than 50 yrs without ever breaking a bone, until 2 yrs ago when I broke my tailbone, and this year, a leg and a hand.
My friend has a couple suits of armor. They’re kinda small, though.
Ouch 🙁
“Ems quickly runs over to the US to cover Patty with bubble-wrap”
Hm maybe we should craft a polka dot dress from bubble wrap to make it more spectacular?
I also had a year when the local ER got to learn my name 🙂
And then my parents decided to put an end to my handball practices.
This is a serious comment, Patty — have you had your bone density checked? Because suddenly having a bunch of broken bones, even if the cause seems perfectly justified, *can* (but isni’t necessarily) be a symptom of osteoporosis. Just a friendly word of advice from someone who has been loading up on calcium ever since, when I was 35, my mom was diagnosed with osteoporosis!
