Now, I am not a spiteful cat by nature. Live and let live, that is my motto, and on the rare occasion when a legitimate businessman like myself might find himself at odds with a competitor, it has always been my preference to discuss these matters like gentlemen of good will. Alas, my associates do not always share my pacifist beliefs. And here we are, alone in the country with no witnesses…

Rest in pieces.
In Soviet Russia, cat strokes Godfather.
Leave the pieces. Take the catnip-nolis.
Ha! I was just getting ready to say something about cannolis.
Like a scene straight out of Fargo.
Big Pussy and his associates!
Look in your heart, Mr. Fluffles! Look in your heart!
(Looking closer before I hit post, I see we have two Coen movies covered. Hah!)
A new episode of the Pawpranos, perhaps???
This is too funny!!! Reminds me of my childhood as I grew up in NJ, in a town with lots of Italian-Americans and man, the stories I could tell.
Now I am curious what town…
It’s a small town called Scotch Plains in Union County, about 20 minutes from Newark Airport. Let’s just say a local pizza parlor wasn’t very financially successful after expanding into fine dining. Gee darn, the gas accidentally started a fire one night and burned the place to the ground. A few months later the place reopened in a new but smaller location. Or, after a NYC godfather was gunned down, I was watching out the window as all these big, black limos drove through town. I think there might have been a meeting that day.
I’ve heard of it; never been there. I grew up in Monmouth County.
I’ve spent a LOT of time in Monmouth county, Middletown, to be precise. Did you ever hear of the Middletown Folk Festival?
Nope.
I used to work in Holmdel.
Is it anywhere near the Pine Barrens?
Way north of there. If you look at a map, it’s up by Staten Island.
I recently discovered that I have some distant relatives living practically next door to the Pine Barrens, a place I’d never heard of before I watched “The Sopranos” (yes, I know that wonderful episode wasn’t really filmed there).
Hey Wuyizidi, what is the piece in your avatar? I have always been curious, it is simply beautiful and since Alice Shortcake mentioned her recent amulet, I wondered if similar.
It’s a jade dragon pendant. I saw it years ago at the Met:

Grew up in one of those towns.
Will never forget a trip to the county courthouse (40 miles away) for a brownie badge. And they were going over a guy with a garage full of tv’s that “fell off a truck.”
We knew the kid and the father. “They’re talking about Vito’s father!!!” I’m not sure the father had thumbs, just saying.
Gotta love NJ towns – they look so nice but behind the scenes…
One of my other favorite stories was the time a couple candidates for town council or something similar decided their campaign would be based on cleaning up the garbage contracts. Well they didn’t get elected and I think their political careers went nowhere. Hmmm, I wonder why?????
Where’s Mr. Cat’s ring? I’ll kiss it.
