Back in 2009, the Taronga Zoo showed off a cuddly orphaned wombat named Matari, a playful little fellow who’s just a tiny bit bitey. His favorite food is the buttons on his keeper’s shirt, but he likes to give painless nips on her finger as well. In fact, he’s gentle enough to give his keeper a kiss! Mmmm-wah!
And now we’re all adding “kiss a wombat” to our bucket lists, Murray C.
Oh man. Why aren’t I a keeper at Taronga Zoo? (Which sounds like Toronto Zoo with her accent). That is one adorable furry little tank.
WOMBAT KISSING! YESSSSSS!
Adding kissing a wombat to bucket list … done!
O my gosh! Totally ded from the cute!?
*adds “kiss a wombat” to bucket list*
Hey. I think there was some tongue there. Lol.
A-dorable.
“Hand-rearing is one of my favorite parts of ‘keeping.”
Well…yeah. I would imagine so. Not envious. Nope. Not me. Nope, just fine…
:grabby hands: Okay. Give it! Give me the little wombat. Give it naow.
Double wombat Wednesday for the win! Triple if you count this morning’s link as 2 wombats.
(sigh)
Am I the only one who sees a giant hamster when they look at wombats?
They are mega-hamsters that dig and dig.And bite attractive keepers fingers.
Hamsters are a lot fluffier, but I can see the comparison!?
I can’t quite make out what the keeper says at the end – “He’s a lovely little–” what? Bayonet? Bear-nut? It’s probably obvious, but my Aussie-to-Canadian translator is broken 🙁
