Ohmygosh! Cute! And flashbacks- I used to have a huge ginger kitty named Fergus who liked to rampage through my dollhouse. I had delicate teeth marks on the wooden chairs ๐Ÿ™‚ Somehow he managed not to knock everything over each time- just a few things. Very dainty for a big guy! I didn’t even know he was the culprit at time. I thought things just fell over from foot traffic near by in the house. I finally caught him in there once ๐Ÿ˜€ That’s when I noticed the teeth marks.

It’s not an earthquake, it’s just the cat purring.

    Maybe a sequel to Clifford?

ALL kittens are unstoppable, rampaging beasts!

When I first got my Maggie, she was only about 5 weeks old. I hadn’t lived with kittens for years, and I had forgotten what it was like. Aye-yi-yi! No more nights of unbroken sleep for me–she slept on my face and repeatedly woke she woke me up to ‘nurse.’ Any drink left unattended was promptly knocked over. Within days, every houseplant was chewed to a nub and every figurine was broken. She pooped under the dresser (though, to her credit, that was the one and only litter box ‘accident’ she had in her entire 11 years.) It was like a cross between having a baby and getting hit by a tornado.

There’s nothing cuter than a kitten, but, man, are they trouble!

I agree! Kittens (and puppies) are adorable but I’ve sworn never again to do the kitten and puppy stage, just wayyyy too much work.

I’ve probably mentioned the kitten I used to have – Harley. And boy, did he live up to his name! Tried crawling up and out the in-wall mail slot, neighbors walking by saw a meowing head because he couldn’t get his whole body through. I once came home to him semi-stuck between the top half of a window and the screen, just hanging there like those stuffed Garfields with suction cups. When I was home, he used to take a running start from the far end of the living room and launch himself at the screen door to let himself out. And if you couldn’t find him, most likely he was sitting somewhere in the front hedges. I’d like to say he mellowed out as he got older but unfortunately he never got the chance. Developed cancer at 5 months and it was kinder to let him go. I wonder if he knew and tried to pack everything he could in those few months. He was such a character and 20 years later, I still miss my Harley boy.

Awww. I had a Harley too. But she got her name because she had a motor larger than she was.

I cannot tell you how destructive she was. Then again she was also the mighty hunter who stalked, fought and killed…. a steak. And then woke me up to show me her kill.

LOL!!! And aren’t they so proud when they show you their prize??

          Both Harleys sound delightful.

I knew a woman who lived in a two-story townhouse. The stairs had a small landing at the top where you’d make a 90-degree turn, then take just a couple more steps to get to the second floor. But her cat was having none of that. He decided that the proper way to do things was to TEAR up the main part of the stairway as fast as he could then take a huge leap and ‘bank’ off the wall, landing on the second floor and thus was skipping the landing and the last few steps entirely.

She found it annoying because it left a mark on the wall. I still think it’s one of the best things I’ve ever heard of.

I don’t know if I can link two YouTube clips in the same comment but: 1) British TV show The Goodies’ Kitten Kong 2) The Sesame Street song about two little girls and their little dollhouse.

Eag46, I came here to make the same comment about the Goodies! GMTA!!

And file this under weird connections: the lady who started Disapproving Rabbits is also a bird watcher and her new book has a foreword by Bill Oddie!

The dog at the bottom seems so unconcerned…

    • AJ May 31, 2018 / 5:33 pm

He’s not unconcerned, he’s just frozen with fear. “If I stay reallly reallly still, maybe I’ll be invisible. Please don’t notice me, please don’t notice me.”

      • Duckie ? May 31, 2018 / 9:15 pm

        Lol

Aj’s ‘observation’ cracked me up too Duckie. This site is a special space.
