They’re on the Trail to Adventure!

Just released on video, Bambi II: The Search for Thumper continues the story of the plucky fawn as he searches the forest for his missing playmate with the help of his new friend Slimey, the snail detective.

(Argh, this is gonna take forever.)

Adorable baby deer but what is that giant blue snail doing in the middle of the wood?
I would love some backstory on this!

Jeez I’m getting old, I forgot about that.

Oh I missed that end of the comments! Oh I wish I lived someplace where that could happen! The most exciting wildlife interaction I even heard about in midtown Manhattan was a neighbor’s Westie, off her leash, catching and killing a rat (they’re ratters). Needless to say she has not been off her leash since.

Is it just me or does that snail have a monocle?

      I see it!

    • 6rabbits June 14, 2018 / 9:40 am

Snail uses it to spy out enemies of fawn!

    • Emsthemonster June 14, 2018 / 10:00 am

The snail needs a monocle to protect his eye at the insane speed they are advancing!
(Snail-sized crash helmets are rarely available)

Well spotted! My husband used pipe cleaners to make “glasses” for the snail. He did the same for a ceramic turtle we have, in order to make it look like Mitch McConnell (the resemblance is striking).

      He’s a weirdo, but he’s my weirdo. 😉

        hehe, that’s cute.

He sounds like my kind of people.

SoccerSue – I love this picture!!! Yay for fawns! And Yay for garden decorations!

        • SoccerSue June 14, 2018 / 4:34 pm

Thanks! We figured since the deer eat almost everything we plant, we’d decorate with sculptures, garden art, etc. We have a “no gnomes” rule, though. And no plastic flamingos. 😛

I like that in a man. Sweet picture and I hope they eventually get to where they’re going – or decide to just stay put which may be a better option.

Who’s the weirdo, McConnell, or hubby? M. McC does look like a turtle.

        • SoccerSue June 15, 2018 / 11:28 am

I was referring to my hubby. Much less flattering (and NSFW) wording would be needed for M. McC. (If you’ve never seen Jon Stewart’s impression of him it’s worth looking up, btw. Hilarious!)

Unlike other private eyes, Sam Snail *leaves* a trail instead of following one. Perhaps the long-suffering fawn is named Effie.

      Ahhh! Leaves a trail!!! 😀

Such a great pic. I take it this must be in Soccersue’s neck of the woods or backyard. The fawn is so adorable, I just want to cuddle with it. I know, it’s mother should hopefully be back later, but in the meantime, a quick cuddle.

Yep, she was born in our front landscaping. 😀 And yes, mama came back later after she ate. I was reviewing our security camera footage (unfortunately didn’t get video of the actual birth, darn it!) and saw mama leave her in different parts of the landscaping and come back to get her several times.

Slow and steady wins the race.

    New fresh creature.

Photo was actually taken by my husband (aka Mr. Soccersue or just Greg H). I was at work and missed all the excitement. I really need to win the lottery so I can stay home all day and watch the deer.
