Wow, it’s really true what all the other cats say. The warmest place in the house to sleep is right next to the windows.

I wonder if my boss would accept this as a reason I get nothing done today.
Only if the cat fell asleep on the laptop.
The “feels like” temp here is 100F. My windows are down! Happily. Thank goodness for ac and electricity.
Feels like 102 here..
Official feels like temp in Midtown Manhattan at the moment is 97. It’s cooling off!
On Manhattan’s Upper West Side, the “feels like” is 104° F. (That’s 40° C to save anyone else the need to look it up.)
I have no idea what the temperature is in my apartment. I try to get by with just a fan on to save energy and its associated costs, but every so often I have to turn the AC on for a bit.
It’s 1:15 PM and I’ve just realized I forgot to eat breakfast. I’ve been up and (mostly) working since 6:30 AM. Yeesh. If I were that adorable little kitty I would not be sitting on any switched-on computers today.
Don’t have just a fan on with your windows closed – it can turn an apartment into a convection oven! Please, everybody, be careful in this heat!
Since I am not an electric fan enclosed in a small Maru-sized box, I’m not too worried about this prospect. I’m sure my apartment is far too large, and not nearly sealed enough, to worry about being cooked by convection, assuming that could actually happen; particularly as I do take care to stay hydrated, and (as I said) turn the AC on from time to time. But I appreciate the thought!
