A recent rainstorm left a backyard in Canada with a puddle so large that three deer showed up to splash and play in it. Although one deer wants the swimming hole all to herself, her two playmates aren’t having any of it. If you’re not having as much fun as these deer, go find a puddle ASAP.

It’s 94 degrees, feels like 103, with a UV index of 9 out of 10. I don’t think I’m gonna find too many puddles.
Three deer playing in a large puddle in your backyard. I’m struggling to come up with something more wonderful.
Dasher. Prancer. And Splasher. ?

I would love to have that view out my window!
Look up the word gambol(ing) in the dictionary and this video will be part of the definition. Not too hot here but very dry so no puddles ☹️. I do remember loving to splash in puddles when I was kid but I don’t think I ever had as much fun as these three.
I think there’s a lesson here – the bigger one is so busy defending her turf that she’s not really enjoying the puddle nearly as much as the other two. It does look nice to be splashing about – I did get to go to the Y pool earlier today, tho’ an indoor pool doesn’t quite compare.
I love watching deer play. I was standing outside once and one of them went racing all the way around the house, stopped about 10 feet away from me, and stood there panting for a few seconds. We looked at each other, I said, “What are you doing?” and she took off again for another circle around the house. Bizarre.
Evidently cats aren’t the only animal that gets the zoomies! 😀
This is so lovely! I love to see wild animals playing and having fun!
