… and this is a portrait of my family’s oldest known ancestor, Don Purrnando de Monte Cristo, a Spanish-born noblecat who gained favor in the court of Archduke Fibonacci III of Naples by seeming to eradicate the palace mice, but was in fact was secretly conscripting them into an army that he used in a bid to seize the throne of King Snarkon of Florsheim.

Don Purrnando’s descendant does look like a cat in a Velasquez painting.
Let me guess, the Florsheim monarchy didn’t have enough FOOT Soldiers.
Oh snoorttt… 😀 You’s guuyysss!
Good one! 😀
Yes, they needed more Puss in Boots.
It’s okay, kitty. I don’t live in a castle, either.
When my cousin’s son was about 10, someone found a picture of his great-grandfather (my mom’s father) at about the same age. The looked so much alike that my cousin’s son saw it and asked “when did I ever wear that outfit?”
If I didn’t know better, I’d swear that kitty used to live with me. She got rehomed because she was terrified of my other cats. She has a great life now, but I still miss her.
