Peeps, we get lots of reader cat pictures, but here’s a rare treat: reader Luv Bunny shares two photos of her rabbits, including one who’s still spry at a ripe old age:
“When I walked into my Precious Pepper Bean’s pen area, I saw her on top of this box. Usually she’s hiding underneath. I think pretty good for my bun who turned 12 years old this month.”
“Here is my other bun, Leo, with two bunny figurines (the black one is on the left). They’re under my year round ‘animal tree.'”
Gorgeousnesses. Lol.
Living rooms are such wild places…
I love these buns!!!!!!
Your buns are gorgeous! I love the idea of a year round animal tree. Hmmmmm…is it an artificial Christmas tree? Asking for a friend.
Thanks for thinking my bunnehs are pretty. And yes, it’s a small artificial tree. I wanted it smaller so that it could fit on the hearth. We bought it after the New Year at a Kroger marketplace. It’s 4’ from stand to tip top. I wanted to see the buri, animal ornaments longer than just at Christmas. The buns bother it at times, thus the two figurines underneath and as decoys from predators, as NTMTOM states.
Luv Bunny, I love your buns! ? You cant tell your 12 yo is that old! I had a couple bunnies live to 12 and one to 13! I always said she was too stubborn to die!? And she was fairly vigorous until her last couple of months. Such sweet babies!?
Oops! Forgot to ask–what are their names?
Precious Pepper Bean and Leo (Leonardo ‘D’ Vinci) – our daughter named him. I’ve treasured everyday with all of our pets but with Pepper, everyday is extra special. Leo is almost 5 years old.
Happy belated birthday Precious Pepper Bean!
p.s. Got a miniature tree up year round myself. Mine is only about 18″ and is decorated with miniature birds, birdhouses, gold stars garland, pine cones, etc. It’s a bit tippy so the tree sits in an old log cabin birdhouse that lost it’s roof ages ago. Trees aren’t just for the xmas holiday anymore.
That sounds pretty. Year around trees are becoming more popular. My brother used to have one in his insurance office and decorated it by the seasons. The customers enjoyed it.
Lovely bunbuns. They look so healthy and happy. Thanks for sharing them with us.
Absolutely lovely bun buns. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Pepper Bean and Leo! *waving* You are some lucky buns to have LB as your Mom.
Omg. I someone going to get that snowflake on her nose? What a beautiful Bunny!
She’s beautiful! Her coat looks so rich.
Re trees – yes, our local bank and McDonald’s have all-season trees that they decorate. I like it.
(adding) in today’s paper was an ad for one of those Franklin Mint type collectibles – an all-cat Nativity! Had to chuckle – it’s pretty cute.
Love, love, love, love, love your buns. And Pepper Bean is in fab shape for such an advanced age! (don’t tell her I said that) My oldest bun was only 11 and his last few months were a gradual decline as he lost use of his back legs. But he wanted to eat and we fed him his cecals and cleaned him often. He seemed to rather enjoy having his bum blow-dried as I’d sit with him and he’d lick me like mad.
To see our precious pet’s health decline is so sad and sometimes hard to handle. Your special care for your aging bun was so sweet and I know he/she had to appreciate it. But I don’t know of many pets that like blow dryers, perhaps the warmth felt good.
