Activate the Pet-O-Matic 3000!

Comical contraption provides automatic affection

Because nothing says “I love you” like hooking up your dog to a machine, some genius has invented the mechanical dog petter. “Humans have massage chairs, so why shouldn’t our pets have petting machines,” notes the inventor. “I gave it a Rube Goldberg style flair to make it interesting to watch.” One size fits all… Well, almost all.

I wanna find this guy’s Kickstarter, Andrew Y. (via Mashable)

    I’m not sure doggo’s all that impressed…

S/he’s willing to work with it, though!

This machine is positively inspiring. If any Cutetropolitans wanted to invent a cat-sized version, say on a 3D printer, I’d buy it!

Is that a dog silhouette on one of the wheels spinning? Looks like the dog is trying to catch the bone on the wheel spinning to the left.

Hmm, not sure how they’ll make this work for varying sized dogs. Nonetheless, I’m also not seeing tons of enthusiasm from the doggos themselves. They look more perplexed, than pleased. I’d say it’s back to the drawing board!

    Kind of sad.

Reminds me of Leonard from BBT building a hugging machine because his mother wouldn’t embrace him. Instead she’d publish a study about his ‘needy’ behavior.

I’m more than happy to pet this little one.
