A pampered pup gets a cut above
This happy dog may have a certain scruffy charm at the beginning of this video, but the skilled hands of a groomer are about to take her from everyday to elegant. First we start with a shampoo, complete with Ferris Beuller pointy hair. Then, after a brain massage in bubbling green fluid, it’s time for the stylist to work her shear magic. In the end, our pooch is a polished pearl, but was she better as a diamond in the rough? Share your opinion below. Just don’t get snippy.

That dog would be adorable no matter what but, in general, I prefer the natural look (with some trimming around the face) over the finished look. ❤
Natural look is good, as long as there are not a lot of mats in the fur tugging at the skin and pinching and hurting.
Super Kawaii!!! But I agree with the other posters and prefer a natural look with just some trimming to prevent matting. Plus now we know how the Japanese manage to get those perfectly rounded fur helmets – they have scissors specifically for that job, curved in the right shape. Those scissors are too cool!
Before, definitely.
I prefer the scruffy little fluff muffin look, but the after is pretty cute too.
The wiggly ears!!!
Yes! Them ears done killed me!
I don’t see the attraction of turning a fluffy little doll into something that looks like it’s made of hardened foam, although those ears remain adorable.
Before. Definitely. (But would still cuddle after.)
Come on peeps, it’s a day at the spa, a fresh ‘do’ (don’t we all leave the salon with a ‘do’) and pups will be back with shaggy do within hours. 🙂 Pup is feeling fresh and happy. I’m kinda envious with my red, snotty nose and hood head. Good job Alice, spa date together soon?
OK, but only if a brain massage is part of the deal…
After has its merits, like the clipping around the eye area, but definitely prefer the Before ears!
While the super-round topiary look around face and ears isn’t really to my taste, that dog is adorable whether scruffy, fluffy, or puffy—and it was due for a trim at least. And I agree with FKAWaldenPond that natural scruffiness will reassert itself very quickly anyway. Plus I’m in awe of the groomer’s skill, and she really seems to enjoy not just her work, but the dog, who was very trusting and calm. So all in all, a win.
